By the way, the title is a reference to one of the great Super Nintendo games.
Which in turn was an unofficial subtitle to Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles III, hence myself using the subtitle for the third one instead of the fourth.

I thought it was a reference to the absolutely dreadful third Ninja Turtles film where they travel in time to ancient Japan. What a shitfest that was.

I suddenly feel I still have so many essential films involving Ninja Turtles to discover...

I believe #1 had this reference to The Karate Kid:
"Wax on, Wax off, wax on..."
"Mouth off!"
But if you want the best Turtles movie with Super Shredder, Vanilla Ice's "Ninja Rap", and Shredder screaming "BABIES!" Then you want to watch #2.
I seriously almost bought the triple pack around Christmas.

Tenet: Criterion Edition. Now with more Backwards Man.

The first one has Sam Rockwell's acting debut. And Kevin "Big Poochie" Nash was Super Shredder in the second.

Re: What Are You Watching Right Now? Episode 3 - Turtles in
Movies I've watched lately:
Caveman - Ringo Starr and Dennis Quaid in the Stone Age. Not for everyone but if you liked Quest for Fire, then you should get a laugh or two out of this one.
The Emperor's New Groove - despite it getting some flak from the studio over it not being like the other Disney Renaissance films, it probably has more in common with the classics (especially the works of Tex Avery and Jay Ward) than most of Disney's films in the past two decades. If Disney really wanted to reinvent themselves, they would be making more films like this one instead of copying the DreamWorks formula (which they did with Chicken Little, Bolt, parts of Tangled and Wreck-It Ralph).
Also, the animation is beautiful (which is especially amazing since the filmmakers had less time than other Disney films during that period) and a reminder of why Disney needs to do more cel-animated films instead of trying to follow the leader.
And I watched Volume 1 of The Brak Show. If you liked Space Ghost Coast to Coast or enjoy bizarre humor, it's right up your alley. And it's a reminder of what Adult Swim was before Tim and Eric took over and turned it into a cesspool of live-action series that apparently weren't good enough for TBS.

The Emperor's New Groove is fantastic, best classic Disney movie since The Lion King. Can watch it endlessly, and along with The Iron Giant one of the most under appreciated animations of our time.

Re: What Are You Watching Right Now? Episode 3 - Turtles in
I'm guessing you've probably seen The Sweatbox, which documents the film's troubled production (for the first two years of production, it was a totally different film called Kingdom of the Sun before major rewrites and a new director turned it into The Emperor's New Groove a year and a half before opening). A little slow-paced but it has some fascinating anecdotes.

I'd heard of some of it's production issues but never seen that film. Sounds intriguing, will keep an eye out for it.
