I'll dump Absolutely Anything for 99 Homes.
Brutal reviews in the UK, still no US distributor, it looks like this film won't be able to coast on the past achievements of its massive cast. Time to cut my losses.
And I can't seem to find it anywhere, but is Pawn Sacrifice still available?

Yeah, I don't know where Pawn Sacrifice went, but I'm adding it back now.

Re: 2015-2016 Division A Waiver Wire
I will drop "THE LITTLE PRINCE" and pick up "Youth" please. I can see it pulling a bunch of Oscar Noms and making some money.
Re: 2015-2016 Division A Waiver Wire
I'll drop The Disappointments Room for The Lady In The Van.
Re: 2015-2016 Division A Waiver Wire
I'll drop 99 Homes for Florence Foster Jenkins, the Meryl Streep/Hugh Grant/Stephen Frears pic that just got picked up by Paramount at TIFF. It looks likely to be Streep's annual Oscar candidate.

Dammit, you're higher than me on the wire. I would've definitely used it to take this, but now I can only hope Paramount saves it until next yearJohnErle wrote:I'll drop 99 Homes for Florence Foster Jenkins, the Meryl Streep/Hugh Grant/Stephen Frears pic that just got picked up by Paramount at TIFF. Frears has The Program (finally) coming out this year so Florence Foster Jenkins probably will be saved for next year.
Everything on this post is strictly the opinion and only the opinion of Buscemi.

Re: 2015-2016 Division A Waiver Wire
I wasn't thinking it would have to clear waivers, but I guess that makes sense. It wasn't on anyone's radar until the announcement today from TIFF, so that's fair and I'll still make a claim.BanksIsDaFuture wrote: Dammit, you're higher than me on the wire. And you're right, it probably won't come out in time anyway, which is why Spectre and Chien shouldn't even think about claiming it. Listen to Buscemi. He's never wrong.

Re: 2015-2016 Division A Waiver Wire
I am discovering the Florence FOster Jenkins buy... and rest assured John, I am not going to let my #1 spot on the wire for a film certain to be released in fall 2016. Shooting only finished 6 or 7 weeks ago and I'm pretty sure the screening at Toronto was an early cut of the film. Frears has spent months in postprod for "The Program", I'm sure Paramount will be glad to wait til fall 2016, since a film with the exact same theme, entitled "Marguerite", and based on Fost Jenkins sotry, was just screened in competition at Venice to great reviews and will be released this fall (though it will be a small release of course).
It seems the film might be ready for early 2016, but this is Oscar material, they'll try to put it in the awards season next year, with festival screenings and all.

Since Fox just screwed me by bumping Tim Burton's latest, can I modify my recent claim? I'd like to keep 99 Homes and dump Miss Perregrine instead.
