I was wondering what could have possessed Tranny to watch the French Dispatch is theatres, then I remembered it was Halloween and there's nothing more terrifying to him than a new Wes Anderson movie.

It's officially wide but I still have to wait another week for it in my market.

Meanwhile, I'm also in one of the few markets getting Finch on Friday.

 Funnily enough, Halloween did directly contribute to my decision to see it. As I've probably mentioned before on here, the town I live in directly borders Salem. While the traffic is absurd every year, the combination of Halloween being on a weekend and the lack of activity last year on account of COVID has made this year even worse than usual. In order to avoid as much of the traffic as possible, I decided to stick around to see something else after Last Night in Soho and I landed on The French Dispatch since it was the only thing playing in the window of time I was aiming for that I hadn't already seen. Plus my disdain for Anderson has softened considerably with age (thanks Grand Budapest Hotel!), so it's not quite as shocking as it seems.

Saw that new trailer for House of Gucci before Finch. Could this movie look any more silly?
