When I saw Bullet Train, I didn't get any Sony trailers. But I did get two Warner Bros. trailers and I don't think it was a studio decision where they'll send two cut down trailers as one (as was the case when a combined Sonic the Hedgehog 2/The Lost City trailer was made for The Batman).

I was surprised that Sony did not attach a trailer for Kraven The Hunter before Bullet Train, considering the latter is another Sony action blockbuster starring Aaron Taylor-Johnson. I imagine it will be with The Woman King, along with the trailer for I Wanna Dance With Somebody.

Kraven's probably not getting a trailer until October, assuming it stays in January. After Morbius, Sony is probably analyzing how to market Kraven the Hunter as not being Morbius though they are in the same Sinister Six line and testing as many campaigns as possible.

I could see that, I guess. I just think that a movie that will almost certainly be marketed as the first blockbuster of the year would have a trailer out by now, considering many of the big movies of the first half of 2023 already do (John Wick: Chapter 4, Dungeons And Dragons... - which I also expected to see the trailer for before Bullet Train, as well as Devotion and Bros -, and Spider-Man...).

Devotion looks to me like the bomb of awards season. I'm getting real Red Tails vibes with it...and this is coming from someone who liked Red Tails but is fully aware that many didn't like it. I'm not surprised that Sony decided to focus on The Woman King here, which looks to be a more successful film.

While Devotion might turn out to be a bomb, I would still think that Sony would want the film they released a trailer for the week of their film to play before it, instead of a film they released a trailer for in June (The Invitation). I also feel like the audience seeing Bullet Train would be more interested in an war film than a horror film, but The Invitation is coming out sooner, so that might be the reasoning behind the attachment.

Trailers before Fall:

Barbarian
Black Panther: Wakanda Forever
Smile (short 30-40 second teaser)
Don't Worry Darling
Breaking
The Invitation
Beast

I was surprised not to see any Lionsgate trailers. Did they really think so little of this movie that they didn't think to advertise any of their future releases with it?

I think the reason for no distributor inclusions is simple. A24 only has scheduled one theatrical exclusive for the rest of the year and do you think that many theatre chains will book a prequel to a film few saw. In addition, said prequel already has pre-orders for its physical release in November and won't open for another month.

And John Wick: Chapter 4 was on my showing of Fall. Along with two Disney titles for some reason.
