I saw that.

To think his only film role since the turn of the millennium was "Witless Protection" with Larry the Cable Guy. Wonder who convinced him to come out of semi-retirement for that.

Dude could play cops, crooks, even a Bond villain. Everyone remember him for Alien, though.

One of the greatest French filmmaker passed away today, Bertrand Tavernier at the age of 79.
If you ever seek to discover great French films, explore his filmography. L'horloger de Saint-Paul, Coup de Torchon, La Vie et Rien d'autre, Capitaine Conan, L 627, L'Appât, La Princesse de Montpensier are all wonderful films.
He also directed a fantastic documentary about French cinema, entitled "Voyage à travers le cinéma français".

In the late 00's, I lived in a small studio near the Opéra de Paris, a neighborhood he lived in, and I often stumbled upon him when going to the grocery store. I never dared to go speak to him, and that's a regret.

Rapper Shock G aka Humpty Hump from Digital Underground, who rose to fame with "The Humpty Dance", passed away today at the age of 57.

Digital Underground also appeared as themselves in the Chevy Chase/Dan Aykroyd/John Candy/Demi Moore disaster Nothing But Trouble.

Just saw that Helen McCrory, who played Narcissa Malfoy in the Harry Potter films (as well as numerous other movies and TV shows, the last being His Dark Materials on Netflix), passed away on April 16 at the age of 52.

Oscar winning actress Olympia Dukakis has passed away today, only six weeks shy of her 90th birthday.

She won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress in 1988 for her role in Moonstruck. She won a Golden Globe and an American Comedy Award for the same role.

Tawny Kitaen, actress and 80s video sex vamp, who appeared in movies like "Bachelor Party" (opposite Tom Hanks), "Witchboard", and "Instant Justice", has passed away at 59. Cause of death has not been released.
