I was wondering what was going on with The Burial. This was supposed to be released last year but Amazon quietly delayed it. I was beginning to wonder if Amazon shelved it because of Bill Camp's appearance in Sound of Freedom.

I could see Hitman being the flop of Toronto. Linklater badly needs a hit but I don't think this attempt at his version of Haywire is going to do it. Also, the production company has a really poor track record.

And I'm honestly not surprised Michel Franco is trying to make American films now. He could compete with Daniel Espinosa for the biggest hack in Hollywood is this turns out to be a success. Of course, Espinosa's movies actually have plots to go with the violence.

The speculation that "Challengers" dropping out of the lineup due to the SAG strike was going to cause a ripple effect didn't end up materializing as this lineup is loaded with US/UK heavy hitters alongside the expected impressive collection of high-wattage films from outside of the English-speaking countries. Outside of that, having films by Polanski, Allen and Besson in the lineup is certainly one way to ensure the press shows up for your festival
