Reel Society Software Update Issue
Posted: February 1st, 2020, 1:20 am
Guys,
As you can see, the site is up and running again.
I received this email from David (site admin) earlier this evening.
Its definitely an incompatibility issue with the forced PHP version upgrade. I haven't had a chance yet to back up everything and try upgrading the forum software to a compatible version (hopefully the version isn't too old to upgrade easily) as a long term fix.
For now, I was able to roll the server back to an older PHP version which looks to have worked for the short term (we have a few weeks to fix it before they permanently drop support for the old version).
So it sounds like we may have to endure yet another upgrade to stabilize the content. Whether this upgrade will cause more shutdown-time, I will try to find out.
In the meantime, we can proceed with business as usual.
If you're reading this, David (aka digicrat), THANK YOU.
