Bookies odds have Once Upon A Time for best film and Mendes for best director, interestingly.

I'm thinking a split too, as there was at the Critics Choice Awards. Mendes tied with Bong there.

The SAG Awards were about as expected with one exception...Parasite winning Best Cast, the first foreign language to do so. It's nice to see the actors being recognized after being shut out of every other award show.

Meanwhile, the PGA Awards chose 1917 for their Best Picture. Despite their strong track record, they did go against the Academy's choice in 2015 and 2016. Also, the PGA voting board seems to skew older, more conservative, and richer, especially since it's exclusively producers.

I see Parasite getting Best Picture - the backlash if it doesn't will be massive.
It's not destroying. It's making something new.

1917's been winning a lot of the awards lately but I still got Once Upon a Time...in Hollywood winning Best Picture. The last time the Academy agreed with the BAFTA's was 2013. And the Producer's Guild's mostly a bunch of rich old guys and they've disagreed with the Academy a few times lately as well. Also, it's been a long time since a film's won Best Picture with no acting nominations. Hollywood is certain to win Best Supporting Actor (funny that I predicted that back in August).

Apparently, Parasite is tracking very well with the Oscar voters as the official Twitter predicts it as the winner for Best Picture due to how the ballots are structured.

After Roma lost, even with one of their biggest pets behind it, I can't see a foreign language film ever winning Best Picture.

The Twitter feed was right!

I wonder what Oscardamus will tell us next year? (I bet it will be Mank, breaking the Netflix curse.)

I cannot believe Parasite won. It's incredible. Just when one could despair about this planet, something like this comes along. The last time my film of the year won big like this was No Country For Old Men. Amazing.

Still a little disappointed Little Women got totally snubbed (It's way better a script than Jojo Rabbit) but can't win em all.

Hey man Jacqueline Durran won for her tremendous costume design. Delighted that Parasite won and Bong Joon-Ho got the recognition he's long deserved.

Third. The Lost Weekend was part of a shared win in 1946 while Marty won in 1955.

My gut was telling me those last few days that Parasite would win, but still, it's amazing. I can't quite believe it. There's gonna be even more people coming at my Korean Film Festival this year !!!

Hard to say, but Korean cinema must be near the top in terms of quality at the moment....or is it just those 2 directors with some mileage?

Australian cinema on the other hand, seems like we have a long way to go.

On one hand I like how Netflix is changing the game, on the other I hate how Disney ruined it...

I Have 4 hands btw

I predict Parasite will sweep the awards with no less than four wins
