Personally, I like 100s. They take longer, keep the place engaged longer, and give us more time to think about what to do next. The only way I'd wanna do less than that is if I couldn't think of enough options to put on the list.

Top 50 albums
Top 40 music acts/artists
Top 25 TV Shows
Top 10 movie directors

these all work for me.

though, i think that--down the road-- we should do another film countdown compartmentalized into genres. ie. Top 50 Comedies, Top 50 Horror/Sci-Fi, Top 50 Drama

Well, we've got pretty much all the talking done and we're exactly zero steps closer than square one. This is going to go by the wayside pretty soon unless somebody just picks something and hosts it. Sorry to be blunt.

And I think top 50 for each genre is a little too many--I don't know if I can name 50 horror films I've seen--and would be ruined pretty easily because of our top 100.

We've delved into film, music, and games now. I think we should do top 25 TV shows next, then go back to actors, directors, or something else film.

I agree W, I think 25 TV shows is the next logical step just because it's a different genre.

But let's not rush into it because everyone needs to think, assemble, write, etc. But yeah, TV is definitely my pick. I already know my Top 5 TV shows but it'll be intesting to work out the rest, especially as we'll be pitting comedy up against drama

Who wants to do it? I think I'll bow out and let someone else take the reins this time...

And I assume Saturday morning cartoons are allowed too?

Yeah, I guess any form of TV show would be acceptable, even reality TV, news programmes, and kids TV. Personally I don't remember much about kids TV shows specifically to include any in my Top 25

I"m down with top 25 tv shows. i can host if necessary, it shouldn't be too much work. also, it's not like people can't post their own like we did before as well. How long do we need to finish a list. a week? 2? let me know and then i'll set a date

I'm not saying we need to start it right this second, but I thought if we didn't set a date, this might get lost forever. It looks like UDM is going to host a top 25 TV show theme and I'll say July 1 seems like an arbitrary enough date far enough away (11 days). Like I said before, I think it'd be fun to do a list a month (bigger ones can take up two months). If we could figure out something for August as well, we could get a host for that list early too.

Hmmmm... personally, I'm not that keen on launching a Top during summer, since I know I won't be able to attend it in its entirety. I'll be on vacation from July 22 to August 9, and unable to connect, basically, and I'm sure a few of us will be on vacation at some point between July and August... or am I the only one ?
For the anecdote, I'll be in the South of France during the first week of vacation, and in... Ireland during the second week ! Yep, there's gonna be a Six / Chien meeting this summer ;)

I'm sure Geez will be able to smell the stench of snobbiness drifting it's way over all the way to the US when that meeting occurs! [wink]
