Kind of a disappointing start for American Fiction, given all of the pre-release hype. The similarly-themed Sorry to Bother You had a much better PTA in more theatres.

The Zone of Interest isn't doing any expansions until January while American Fiction expands to 50 or so theaters and Poor Things goes wide-ish this week, so it'll be interesting to see how the next couple of weeks play out on the arthouse circuit.

Definitely a rough December for movies when this is likely to be the biggest opening this month.

Agreed, their tried and tested methods are not working, and rather than pivot (e.g. exciting new films, at least ones not created by Zac Snyder) they force their old methods in hope it will somehow work.
