I think the concept of Apollo 18 is pretty cool...but I have seen absolutely ZERO trailers for this on TV...ZERO

This weekend stinks...seems like a trend recently.

I admit defeat. The Debt did only $900,000 opening day but Focus is claiming good word-of-mouth and expects a gross similar to The Constant Gardener from 2005.

Well, people were giving me crap about the prediction. I just expected a little more on this one (with its name cast, Certified Fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes and the writers of Kick-Ass and X-Men: First Class*).

* - Technically, eight writers worked on X-Men: First Class but much of the credit went to Matthew Vaughn and Jane Goldman.

Reminds me of State of Play. Seemingly good pedigree, but wrong time of year, or else people just don't care.

Only 1700 locations for Warrior? May have to consider dropping it from my slates.

How the hell is Warrior only opening in 1700 and Shark Night is opening in almost 3000? That makes zero sense.

To build word-of-mouth, maybe? Lionsgate is sneak previewing it Sunday night (some AMC Theatres sneaked it on Wednesday) to build word of mouth. Then they may expect high demand in those theatres on opening weekend which will lead to expansions and small drops. And it should work since the film runs two hours and twenty minutes (25 minutes longer than The Fighter).

The Help did almost the exact same thing (except replace sneak preview with Wednesday opening).
