Boy I'm in trouble in both Ultimate and BO ! But it is far from over, so don't think you've already won, Ron and Shryke ;)

I think Red Raider may be trying to compile a bankrupts slate vs. myself in Ultimate...

Empire has some entertaining times ahead with his matches, both very close fought line-ups.

We're nearing the end of that competition too ! So what's the update ? Who seems doomed, who still has shot, who crushed the competition ?

It was actually a well fought battle, considering I thought I had it easily won by the beginning of March, but with The Lorax you pulled right back in it. I'm actually quite proud of myself for doing so well without The Lorax. Having said that, look at empire's slate. He's still right up there with the leaders without having The Lorax. That is impressive.

I'm very pleased with my Ultimate slate too. I think that may indeed be my strongest looking slate I've ever had in the format. Poor raider, he never stood a chance with my slate and having to start a month behind.

So Box Office is practically set.

Shryke
Donnie (probably)

Empire
Buscemi

Silver Surfer
Ron Burgundy

Brockster
UDM (probably)

The only things that can happen is Ozzy pulling something out of you-know-where or a major Titanic hold and horrible openings from both Five-Year and Pirates.

Ultimate is a little more iffy.

Six and I had a close one. I thought that the only way I could beat him is by switching Titanic (which we both had) for American Reunion, though I thought Titanic was the better pick. Actually, if I'd had stayed with that pick, I think I'd be winning right now and have had a chance to pull it off. Alas, I'm defeated.

Aquaman and Ozzy are way too close to call. The Lucky One will assuredly give Ozzy the lead in T5 in the next two weeks and Marley has a good chance to get Aqua the lead in PTA. The Lucky One will have to gross $50ish M to give Ozzy the lead in that category and the IMDb score is .6 in favor of Aqua meaning Lucky One would need a 7.8 to tie that category and I don't see it happening. It will come down to Lucky's gross and Marley's PTA

Geezer vs Buscemi comes down to 21 Jump Street + American Reunion + The Lucky One vs. Titanic 3D + Three Stooges + $5 M head start in the T5 and domestic gross categories assuming a putrid (Sub 4.0) IMDb for The Lucky One is out of the question. Each winning one of those two categories would mean a tiebreaker.

Tranny vs Donnie could result in a tie Donnie should grab the lead in IMDb with a 4.8 or higher from The Lucky One and she'd also need 9 T5 from it in the first two weeks of release. I don't see it happening, but it's possible.

With Lazar and Lucky One, Shryke should be able to keep the lead in domestic gross and T5 while flipping PTA leaving Brockster the lone IMDb category.

SS completely dominated RedRaider, though he had to fill in and didn't get all the choices we had.

Empire needs 5 more T5 from Titanic 3D to force a tie-breaker.

And finally, the best game played between two people in either tournament is Chien and Ron Burgundy. Barring something crazy happening, it WILL go to a tiebreaker and right now Ron B leads that 199.44-198.975!

The formula for a tiebreaker = ($domestic gross/20) + T5 + PTA + (IMDb/2)
I'm currently rethinking the IMDb/2 part and taking out the /2 part for all our upcoming tournaments (but leaving it the way it is for this one).

Ha !
I was about to ask, because I didn't remember how it works when there is a score such as Ron and I's... And now I remember that when this was deicded I couldn't understand how the tiebreaker works... I still don't really understand how that works... But what I understand is that the margin is close enough that by the end of next weekend, thanks to the second weekend of Cabin in the Woods and Monsieur Lazhar, I might end up ahead of him...

I'll try to put it as simply as I can because sometimes I don't project well to other people's brains.

If it ends up tied at 2 categories each:
The current format gives:
1 tie break point per every $20 M earned ($800 M earns you 40 tie break points)
1 tie break point per every PTA point (50 PTA points get you 50 tie break points)
1 tie break point per every T5 point (50 T5 points get you 50 tie break points)
.5 points per every IMDb score (a score of 60 IMDb would net you 30 tie break points)

I think for all other tournaments I will change the last one to 1 tie break point per every IMDb score.

From just the first time using it, it seems just a little heavy on the T5/PTA points (which I kind of like) a little lower on the gross (which I also kind of like), but much too low on the IMDb score (which I think needs fixed). If I can get the average IMDb tie break points to be about the same as the average domestic gross, I think it's good.

Okay I get it now.
I'm still surprised Ron and I are the only ties. I made last minute changes last week to try and end ahead of him, I hope those changes will work. I don't want to be eliminated both in BO and Ultimate !!
