I'm giving myself a not-hate-2-songs-per-100 limit to Shryke's list.

Appreciate the 2% of support, Six. Sorry to inflict the Lenny on you, JE.

Here are three more cuts I had to make:

fun., Some Nights (2012)

This was a tough one to cut, even more so than Carry On. I'm glad I have two Nate Reuss songs on my list to compensate.

Barenaked Ladies, Pinch Me (2000)

Nothing like the Ladies for a bit of melodic and lyrical silliness. This is one of their better efforts. I just made YOU say underwear...

Fall Out Boy, Immortals (2014)

This one got my attention for the first time during the final credits of Big Hero 6. I'm not a hug FOB fan, but I did consider a few of their songs. This one came the closest.

How did you manage that? I usually just re-order the playlist to make the first four songs easier on the eyes.

Love that Oh Sees song. Without doubt one of their best.

Tranny, are you toying with us to see if we're paying attention? That's the only way I can explain the Tove Lo song hidden in between burly metal and smokey hip-hop!

I don't think you can do it on a phone but on a computer click on the picture of the playlist to edit playlist details then click on the picture again to load a saved image...I can change it to just a picture of Lenny if you want?

Another great listening session done.

Love It
Pedestrian At Best by Courtney Barnett - one of many great songs from one of my favourite albums of that year...I considered a few Courtney songs (Kim's Caravan from this album) but none made the final cut

The Excellent
I Come From The Mountain by Thee Oh Sees - one of my favourite bands
No Below by Speedy Ortiz - best song on the album
Film Maker by The Cooper Temple Clause - first listen...this rocks!!!

The Great
Some Nights by fun. - very effective drumming

The Good
Wanderlust by Every Time I Die - first listen...I dug the vocals here...some good metalcore...could be a bit of a grower

The Okay
Pinch Me by Barenaked Ladies - first listen
Gravemakers & Gunslingers by Coheed and Cambria - first listen
ASTROTHUNDER by Travis Scott - first listen

The Meh
Triple Corpse Hammerblow by Children Of Bodom - first listen...needs more dynamics than just loud and fast for my tastes
My Gun by Tove Lo - first listen - electropop is a hard sell for me

The Not My Thing
Immortals by Fall Out Boy

Nope. Those 5 songs are pretty much an encapsulation of my entire list: A lot of metal, some hip-hop and the occasional unexpected detour that will catch everybody off-guard.

Transformers:

Children of Bodom - great guitar. Not a fan of the screaming 90% of the time, but this was ok.

Coheed & Cambria - I've listened to a lot of C&C during my blitz, but I hadn't heard this one before. Not bad.

Every Time I Die - I've not had a lot of exposure to this group. Didn't care for it.

Tove Lo - I like her voice. Good song.

Travis Scott - Really like the laid back vibe. Nice choice.

Surfer:

Speedy Ortiz - Never heard of them, but I think I'll check them out. Cool song.

Thee Oh Sees - I'm digging it, dude. It reminds me of B-52s filtered through White Stripes.

I can see now that I'm going to be the radically uncool guy in the crowd that the cool kids let hang around just because he's the only one old enough to buy them beer. Meh. I'll own it.

Alright, let's list a few songs that almost made my list. You'll have a good idea of what to expect from my list with those 5 that didn't make the cut, some French, some English, and another language no one understands. That sums up my list alright.
I'll probably be the one with the most songs not in English, as I'll have quite a few French songs, obviously, plus the occasional song in another language entirely, be it in Arab, Spanish, Chinese or something else again.
When you grow up listening to songs you don't understand the lyrics of, it gives you a different perspective on music. I love listening to songs in all kinds of languages, some I understand, some I don't, and that will be reflected in my list.

So, here are 5 songs that almost made that list.

Aaron, "Seeds of Gold" (2010)

Izia, "Trop vite" (2019)

De Palmas, "Tomber" (2000)

The Strokes, "The end has no end" (2003)

Kaleo, "Vor í vaglaskógi" (2013)

That Strokes song is without doubt their best non-It-This-It track. Nice one, Chien!

Like the Aaron and Kaleo songs. Chien. The Strokes for me are just okay.
