Viggo Mortensen's The Dead Don't Hurt will open on May 31st. Shout! Studios is releasing the film so don't expect it to report box office.

The Crow really is a dog by the looks of it, to get pushed from June to late August.

Guy Ritchie is turning into the action movie Wes Anderson, given how he's casting the same actors in everything now.

I wasn't expecting a conservative response to Civil War this soon, even though that film is apparently rather even-handed in terms of politics and is more Spotlight with explosions than the Purge meets Olympus Has Fallen-type movie the trailers were selling it as before A24 changed the ad campaign to make it looks more like Apocalypse Now and less QAnon-y.

As for the Trey Parker/Matt Stone musical, I wouldn't be surprised if it was a Book of Mormon adaptation, even though Trey & Matt have been known to do original musicals for the screen. But I have to imagine the final movie will end up just being two men in their fifties complaining about everything, making it essentially Old Dads with songs.

The Parker/Stone musical isn't The Book of Mormon, it's the Kendrick Lamar-produced film that first got announced a year or so ago about the black guy working as a slave reenactor at a history museum who discovers his white girlfriend's ancestors once owned his.

The opening day ceremony for the Paris Olympics will be live-streamed to 150 IMAX locations on July 26th. Kind of surprised Disney is cool with this, as Deadpool and Wolverine will be hitting IMAX screens on the same day.

In other IMAX news, Wolfs will be getting IMAX screens.

It looks like Young Woman and the Sea will be a quick dump before hitting Disney+. The newly-released poster only mentions "select theatres", suggesting a release of only a few hundred theatres.

Daisy Ridley might be one of the most unlucky actors right now.

Documentaries on The Beach Boys (co-directed by the director of the Stallone documentary) and Jim Henson (directed by Ron Howard) will appear on Disney+ next month. Looks like Disney wants that Best Documentary Feature Oscar next year.

If neither of those docs dedicate their time to showing how Surf's Up is the greatest song of all time, then all will be lost.

I was surprised to find out the Beach Boys documentary isn't going to be a Get Back-sized miniseries. You could easily have six hours of material for one, maybe more.

Joker: Folie a Deux is set to be getting around 75 70mm prints worldwide. Yes, the first one had a 70mm run but I'm surprised by the number of prints for this one.

In other news, Alien will return to theatres on April 26th.
