Even under union rules you can shoot 6 days in a row. It's very common to shoot 11-day fortnights - 5 days with 2 days off then 6 days with one day off.
Thanks for clarifying. When I was texting with him about it on Thursday, he wasn't fazed by having to shoot for 6 straight days, so I figured this wasn't something out of the ordinary.

The Bride is now titled The Invitation. Its August 26th release date remains unchanged.

I'm not really sure why it's going to theatres. It feels like a straight-to-DVD title.

Best case scenario is that it's like Umma and gets dumped into 1,000 or so theatres as a fill-in before bigger movies arrive.

The Invitation will probably do okay numbers. The main issue it faces is the large amount of horror/thriller films releasing around it.

The biggest name in The Invitation is career straight-to-DVD regular Sean Pertwee, whose appearance in a film is almost always a sign that the end result will be terrible. And when genre fans see the title, they'll just want to watch the 2015 Karyn Kusama film The Invitation again.

Another sequel a vocal minority wanted and not very many other people asked for, Hocus Pocus 2, arrives on September 30th on Disney+.

Thirteen Lives will be getting a one-week theatrical exclusive on July 29th before arriving on Prime a week later. This looks to suggest how Samaritan will be distributed.

The poster for Thirteen Lives also seems to suggest that Amazon's distribution network and United Artists Releasing are now one and any Amazon titles that plays theatrically will be booked using the previously-established United Artists pipeline. I wouldn't expect box office to be reported on Amazon titles though.

Nathalie Emmanuel was on the final 6 seasons of Game of Thrones and has appeared in the last 3 Fast and Furious movies.

So it stars a minor actor from two franchises. It doesn't mean audiences will show any interest. You could cast the biggest name from Game of Thrones and it still wouldn't register, as is the case with nearly every movie starring a Game of Thrones cast member.

Never said it would, although I'm in a similar camp as Screen and think it has the potential to do alright if things can break its way in the late August horror logjam. Was simply pushing back against your assertion that a genre character actor whose only notable role of the past 15 years was playing Alfred on Gotham is more known to people in 2022 than someone had a pretty prominent role in two of the biggest pop culture sensations in recent history (and also happens to be the lead of the movie in question).

While I think Beast and possibly Barbarian both seem like they will be more successful, I could still see The Invitation doing 25-30 m as vampire films almost always have an audience.

You seem to think everything's going to make at least $25-30 million. That's not how the industry works.

Anyway, Ghostbusters: Still Pandering to Angry White Guys will arrive on 12/20/2023. Meanwhile, the next film from Illumination, Migration, a film that sounds like a modernized version of Make Way for Ducklings, will open two days later on 12/22/2023.

I saw a few days back that Disappointment Blvd. will not be ready for this awards season and will arrive next awards season. I have to imagine that A24 must have stepped in and asked for some edits.
