That remains to be seen. The move could've just been to get away from Book Club since they're going for the same audience.

Also, when was the last time another wide release opened against a Marvel movie? Maybe the other studios really aren't scared of them anymore

I think Sony's just putting the film out of its misery. Celine Dion has little relevance to audiences under 30 and the cast is primarily TV-based actors and actors that aren't known outside of the UK.

Not sure if it was fully wide, but Nightmare Alley opened against No Way Home in 2021.

As for Love Again, I don't expect much for it - the marketing campaign has been extremely muted so far.
It's not destroying. It's making something new.

You're absolutely right and it did indeed open wide. That was a barely over a year ago, so I have no clue how I forget that.

Ethan Coen's first solo narrative effort led by Margret Qualley and Geraldine Viswanathan is now titled Drive-Away Dolls and will release on September 22nd. Along with the date and title announcement came confirmation of the supporting cast-which includes Beanie Feldstein, Pedro Pascal, Colman Domingo, Bill Camp and Matt Damon. Very, very excited for this one.

I have to wonder after nearly forty years of producing, co-writing, and co-directing mainly intelligent and entertaining movies for adults, what compelled Ethan Coen to make what essentially sounds like a forgettable teen road/teen adventure movie much like we've several times in the past decade. I have a feeling he needed Joel for this one in the same way Joel probably needed Ethan on The Tragedy of Macbeth.

I have to wonder if they keep the original's ending, which felt like it ended that way solely to appeal to American viewers of horror films.

Also, a lot of the original was in English so why even remake it?

Insidious 5 is officially titled Insidious: The Red Door. Sounds like something you'd watch on Cinemax in the 2000's.

Also, the poster confirmed a July date so it looks like Harold and the Purple Crayon will probably be delayed to the fall.

Further proof that movies are getting way too long: a beatboxing movie is getting self-distributed for an August 11th opening called CHAAW. The final run time is three hours and ten minutes. The movie also finished filming over nearly two years ago and it's Biz Markie's last project.

As Jamie Foxx is recovering from a still unknown ailment, XYZ has scheduled his thriller God is a Bullet, Nick Cassavetes' first feature in a decade, for a June 23rd opening. The final run time is 155 minutes and the cast is straight-up bizarre.

I knew that title wouldn't stick. Calling it True Love would have turned off sci-fi fans and it being a sci-fi film likely would have turned off people wanting a romance.
