New release date:

Barbershop 3 4/15/2016 (from 2/19/2016)

Meanwhile, Incarnate (which Brad Peyton shot before San Andreas but remains unreleased) has been dropped by Universal and will be released as a BH Tilt title instead. Distribution partner is unknown (BH Tilt has distributed through Orion, Weinstein, Paramount, The Orchard, and Universal in the past so the film could very well return to Universal but in distribution only while Blumhouse retains most rights).

Buscemi wrote:Let it Snow was always on 12/9/2016 (seeing how it's a Christmas movie). Box Office Mojo listed the incorrect date.

And I'm pretty sure Everest is still going to be September 18th limited, September 25th wide since Box Office Mojo never updated the title and HSX didn't list a change (just speculation). (Edit: it's still 9/18 limited, 9/25 wide as tickets have begun to be sold with these dates)
Since Subers left, BOM has become sorta unreliable on dates. It sucks because they have the easiest layout and they used to be on top of everything.

As for Barbershop 3, moving from a good date to a shitty one. Especially if The Best Man Wedding stays, that would split the black audience and hurt both of them. Not to mention all the comedies at that time.

Yeah, BOM is really poor recently. They barely update international BO numbers, and are slow on new dates and changes. Plus, I keep getting error messages until I reload the page.

A shame, as it was the best public box office website by far. You'd think IMDB would want it to get more users but at this rate they're going to lose a lot.

I'll get this one for you Boosh:

Seems Sony has dated 16 films today -

Money Monster – 4/8/16
The Shallows – 6/24/16
Ghostbusters – 7/15/16*
Patient Zero – 9/2/16
The Magnificent Seven – 9/23/16*
Underworld 5 – 10/21/16
Passengers – 12/21/16
Jumanji – 12/25/16
The Dark Tower – 1/13/17
Resident Evil 6 – 1/27/17
Bad Boys 3 – 2/17/17
Baby Driver – 3/17/17
Barbie – 6/2/17
Uncharted – 6/30/17*
The Lamb – 12/8/17
Bad Boys 4 – 7/3/19

*Previously slated films with new dates

That's good news for those who picked up Money Monster in the year long draft. That would be me in Division A!! Yay.

Thanks, Spectre. I was away all day.

I'm surprised Baby Driver won't be ready until March 2017, seeing how that was supposed to begin filming this summer (Elgort must have had prior commitments). Also, I figured The Magnificent Seven would get the Christmas date but I guess Sony has too much money vested in Passengers (current budget is $120 million and over a fourth of that is just salaries for the two leads).

In other news, Sony Pictures Classics has picked up Don Cheadle's Miles Davis biopic Miles Ahead. I imagine that it could take the December 11th slot vacated by The Lady in the Van.

This seems really weird that some of these movies would be announced with a simple release date. I mean they all sound like crap, but they are sony's tentpoles no?

New release dates:

The Masked Saint (more religious movies) 1/8/2016
Catfight TBA 2016 (from 4/1/2016)
Ready Player One 12/15/2017 (I'm kind of surprised this is still happening after the failure of Pixels but this one does have Spielberg directing)

why do you feel like you have to point out all the religious movies? You act like they have no right to make them or release them.

Because they make so many of them and yet they almost never make money. It's basically the Hollywood trend that no one is buying into but you're still seeing them getting theatrical releases.

New release dates:

The Accountant 10/7/2016 (from 1/27/2016)
Live by Night TBA 2017 (from 10/7/2016, the delay is due to Affleck's time being occupied by Batman)

Just days before its release, The Weinstein Company has pulled Underdogs from its Friday opening to an undetermined new date. Could this get eventually get dumped into second run houses like T.S. Spivet was?

Meanwhile, Ice Age 5 is now titled Ice Age: Collision Course and has moved back one week to 7/22/2016 (from 7/15/2016).

Underdogs always looked like something that would be released in January, but this year you have Norm of the North, Nut Job 2, and Kung Fu Panda 3 so I don't know... Norm or Nut Job have to be moving, right? Or has one left already? Mojo says Nut Job is on the 15th but has no listing for Norm in the database, but IMDb says Norm is releasing the 15th but lists Nut Job as "2016" (but a Canadian release date of 1/22.
Tenet: Criterion Edition. Now with more Backwards Man.

Norm of the North has a trailer out so it looks like it will be ready on the 15th. Meanwhile, The Nut Job 2 probably will be pushed as nothing is out for it yet (also, it was a sequel no one asked for).

In other news, Fox is considering canceling development on Fantastic Four 2 and will instead give its 6/9/2017 release date to Deadpool 2 (which was only just announced last week).
