In a case of a distributor not thinking something through, the Billie Eilish concert film is one night only. Had this been extended for at least the weekend, it would easily be a Top 10 finisher.

Meanwhile because A24 has no idea how to market anything anymore (well, that and the Oscars), Everything Everywhere All at Once gets its second wide reissue a full ten months after initially opening, even though it's already on Showtime. I'm sure any Oscar bump will be minimal, especially seeing how it's cheaper to add the Showtime extension to Paramount+.

Looks like Netflix is going to expand All Quiet on the Western Front wide on February 3rd.

Meanwhile, Cinedigm and Bloody Disgusting hope to have found the next Terrifer 2 with The Outwaters, opening on February 9th. This one is apparently very violent as well.

Remember that Madonna biopic that was in the works? It's dead now due to script troubles and after the industry backlash over Blonde, I'd be surprised if any American studio took on something like this.

Fathom Events and the producers of After reteam with another adaptation of a trashy romance novel, Beautiful Disaster, opening on April 12th. The cast might be a little better but expect similar results.

New Warner Bros. dates:

Superman: Legacy 7/11/2025
The Batman Part II 10/3/2025

Also, a bunch of other forthcoming DC film projects have been revealed, such as a film called The Authority which sounds almost exactly like The Suicide Squad, a non-Robert Pattinson Batman movie based on The Brave and the Bold (wait, didn't they say there was only going to be one Batman moving forward?), a new Supergirl movie, and a new Swamp Thing movie (an idea previously planned for the unproduced Justice League Dark movie that had Guillermo del Toro and M3gan director Gerald Johnstone on board). Meanwhile, the future of Wonder Woman will be limited to HBO Max.

How long before they have to reboot again once they realize that it's the same thing as before and The Suicide Squad wasn't really that popular to begin with?

Sony apparently realized that opening up against Shazam! instead of opening against Scream was a puzzling choice because 65 is now back at March 10th

The re-edit of Irreversible is finally getting a US release. Altered Innocence has picked up the film, released in the US by Lionsgate twenty years ago, and will open on February 17th.

I was wondering when Neon would schedule Enys Men. It looks like the movie Skinamarink should have been.

And will Gladiator 2 use the Nick Cave script? Or will it just be a cheap remake of the original?

Neither. It's a direct sequel scripted by David Scarpa centered around an adult version of the nephew of Joaquin Phoenix's character (played by Paul Mescal) that Russell Crowe saved at the end of the movie and his battles in the arena.

That doesn't sound good at all. Retire already, Ridley Scott.

As I mentioned one reissue yesterday, I found last night that Warner Bros. has struck a 70mm print of Boogie Nights for repertory showings and will premiere it on Friday in Los Angeles. This has never been released in 70mm and wasn't even filmed in 70mm.

But Paul Thomas Anderson does love 70mm and it seems to suggest the possibility of 70mm prints of his next three films as well, none of which have had previous plans for 70mm.
