Oppenheimer comes out on 7/21/2023. Between the puzzling summer date and Cillian Murphy playing Oppenheimer (is this 2005?), it's obvious that Nolan is still in a world where only his decisions make any sense.

This could have easily been a $10 million film for Netflix.

It's a small biopic about the inventor of the atomic bomb. Unless you're going to show cities getting destroyed by the bomb, you don't need to spend millions of dollars to depict cutthroat meetings about its uses.

Nolan's worked with small budgets before. He can do it again if he wasn't such an ignorant bastard.

And when's the last time anyone's actually cared about Murphy? Sure, he was in A Quiet Place Part II but he filmed that, what, two years ago? Last I heard about him, he was getting himself fired from Doug Liman movies. If not for Nolan, he would be reduced to doing the kinds of movies guys like Jonathan Rhys-Meyers and Sean Patrick Flanery are doing.

I'll be surprised if this doesn't end up being like Mank: popular with critics and wins a few fringe Oscars but does little else.

Get with the program, Nolan. The industry is changing and it's time to change with it. Sure, you can keep shooting in 65mm if you want but you can't keeping thinking you can get big budgets and large theatre-only openings with small, limited-appeal ideas. Your fans can only support you so far.

The Home Alone remake is now titled Home Sweet Home Alone and hits Disney+ on November 12th. I'll be surprised if this one approaches even mediocre territory.

For some reason, we're getting two totally different movies based on The Loud House. There was the Netflix one that was planned for theatres but ended up on Netflix back in August and now, A Loud House Christmas will hit Paramount+ on November 26th. To make things even weirder, this one is live-action while the previous one was animated.

This is certain to start debates with its weirdo fanbase over which one is better.

Massive Marvel/Fox 2022-23 Date Shuffle:
Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness 5/6/22 (from 3/25/22)
Thor: Love and Thunder 7/8/22 (from 5/6/22)
Black Panther: Wakanda Forever 11/11/22 (from 7/8/22)
The Marvels 2/17/23 (from 11/11/22)
Indiana Jones 5 6/30/23 (from 7/29/22)
Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania 7/29/23 (from 2/17/23)
Untitled Marvel Film 11/3/23 (from 11/10/23-this will probably be Blade since the script is finished and a director was hired a couple months back)

Oddly enough, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.3-which is the only film above excluding the Untitled Film that hasn't started filming yet-is the only 2022/23 MCU title staying on its original date (5/5/23)

Edit: In a subsequent move, Paramount has moved up The Lost City of D (now just titled The Lost City) from April 15th to March 25th.

And taking over for Doctor Strange: Sam Raimi's in Charge Now at the 3/25/2022 date is Lost City of D, moving up from 4/15/2022.

If the trailer's any good, that one should surprise. The cast is stellar.

Amazon's probably glad they were able to sneak it into the Oscar race. The Tender Bar's getting mixed early word and looks to be out of it.

It seems like movies directed by Clooney never get much positive word anymore.
It's not destroying. It's making something new.

It was a project adapted by William Monahan and was originally set to be directed by Ted Melfi. Did anyone think it would be good?

Universal is releasing Redeeming Love, a project initially set to be released by Pure Flix, on 1/21/2022. So I'm guessing it's probably just the religious version of the After series.

Amazon will release Asghar Farhadi's A Hero on January 7th, followed by a Prime Video debut on the 21st. The film has already qualified for Oscars as it is Iran's official selection for Best International Feature Film.

Was anyone wanting to see a movie where there are three Vanessa Hudgens? If you did, The Princess Switch 3 hits Netflix on November 18th.

The first change from the crowded Valentine's Day/Super Bowl weekend has occurred. The Devil's Light will now open on 2/25/2022.

And it turns out, The Duke ended up not opening last month as originally planned. It currently does not have a new date, even though trailers had been in theatres.
