Surprised that it will arrive before the previously scheduled date. Coming 2 America and Without Remorse both came after the previous dates.

For the three or four people that actually wanted it, The House Next Door: Meet the Blacks 2 will open on June 11th, four years after it finished filming.

Yet another not overly surprising move: Amazon is closing in on a deal to acquire Cinderella from Sony.

In 2021, is there really still an audience for movies starring pop musicians not named Lady Gaga?
Meanwhile, I saw that Netflix picked up Wish Dragon and will premiere on June 11th. It looks like that any Sony Pictures Animation title that isn't Spider-Man or Peter Rabbit will be a Netflix exclusive from now on.

Nine Days finally gets a new date for July 30th. I remember seeing trailers for this months ago.

Re: The Latest Date Changes 2: The New Batch
With the recent breakthrough outbreaks involving the Yankees and Padres (but somehow, no games have been delayed yet), it would not surprise me to see a few movies get delayed or get sold off to streaming and debut on their previously scheduled dates or sooner. Yes, it's a small percentage contracting it after getting the vaccine but food for thought.

Jungle Cruise's July 30th release has pivoted to a simultaneous theatrical/Disney+ Premier Access release. This will apparently be the final title they're applying the hybrid release strategy to since Bob Chapchek confirmed today that Disney's final 2 "summer" releases (Free Guy and Shang-Chi) won't be available on VOD until they've been in theaters for 45 days.
In smaller release news, The Card Counter has been dated for September 10th.

I only just saw a new trailer for Jungle Cruise a few days ago. A day-and-date run might be the best option for it.
And I'm still amazed they think Free Guy will be a hit.

Anyone else notice that Regal's going to running Scoob! in their theatres next Friday, a year after it crashed and burned on HBO Max and as a PVOD rental?

Re: The Latest Date Changes 2: The New Batch
Regal has a program where they play recent children's movies for cheap in the morning, but this doesn't seem to be one.
It's probably just a contractual thing.

It's not destroying. It's making something new.

Yes, but Warner Bros. has previously declared that Scoob! would not be made available as a theatrical title in the US. Why they changed their minds makes little sense.

Re: The Latest Date Changes 2: The New Batch
Who exactly is giving Robert Eggers $110 million to make a movie? His two previous films combined didn't even make half that.

Re: The Latest Date Changes 2: The New Batch
i'd take that figure with a grain of salt. From the parties involved I'd be shocked if they put in that much money.
Re: The Latest Date Changes 2: The New Batch
That's the number IMDb listed. Considering how it's IMDb, I would take that figure with a grain of salt, but the film is a co-production between Universal and Disney so maybe the two parties did in fact give him $110 million.
