STANDINGS (up until July 24th included)

Nope helps me think I'll stick around first place for a long time. Shryke still has a firm grip on silver. Screen is breathing on Walleye's neck, but missed the chance to get on the podium as Walleye should get some fresh air thanks to DC Super League of Pets this coming weekend. At the bottom, Tranny is closing in on Boosch thanks to the solid perf of the Crawdads.

1. Chien - $680,203,792 (2 films - Nope, Top Gun Maverick)
2. Shryke - $462,087,473 (4 films - Doctor Strange 2, The Bob’s Burger Movie, Paws of Fury, Mrs. Harris Goes to Paris)
3. Walleye - $365,663,680 (1 film - Jurassic World Dominion)
4. Screen - $365,334,411 (2 films - Thor 4, The Black Phone)

7. Ron B - $117,149,203 (1 film - Lightyear)
8. Buscemi - $46,706,681 (1 film - Marcel The Shell)
9. Tranny - $38,359,223 (1 film - Where the Crawdads Sing)

I'll not sure we'll ever see you drop from #1, my French canine friend!

Over $700m for your top 2 movies is going to be hard to beat.

I guess it will depend on Black Panther and Avatar, which were the two films expected to be the biggest of the year. If both live up to expectations, I'll need my other films to perform well to keep my spot.

I don't know man, you're already in a great spot. Maverick alone is setting a bar that's going to be really difficult for any other film to clear and if Dungeons and Dragons and Kraven the Hunter can do even semi-respectable business, you're going to blow everybody else out of the water.

After the savage response towards Morbius, do we really think Kraven Moorhead will do well?

I'm in the best possible spot for sure. But in terms of combining strong #1 and #2, as much as Top Gun blew my high expectations away, its score is still in the area where we expected Avatar and Wakanda Forever to possibly go. And Six has a #2 that is as strong as mine, and I'm pretty sure your #2 will be just as strong.

So indeed it will probably come down to what comes next, as often in this game, and that's why at every draft, the mid-round picks are essential.

Sure, Boosch, Morbius didn't set a high standard in the same genre, but Kraven has one of the most interesting US directors behind the camera, so I hope it can be much better and do much better than Morbius. My only fear is if Sony decides to move the film, but we'll see. I was hoping the studio would be at Comic Con and show something, but that wasn't the case. And Dungeons and Dragons might be a steal for a round 4 pick. Paramount seems on the way to push it hard, and they are on fire this year. Anyway, we'll see.

I agree on Kraven - I think that could be a dud. But the enthusiastic love for DnD should give a lot of hope for that.

I had hopes Super Pets would break 100 million, a score for a third round pick this year. Totally curious which way this one goes. Dwayne and Kevin are giving it their all, though.

The thing about Kraven is, worst case scenario, it's a dud à la Morbius and only grabs in the 70/80M range. And honestly, that wouldn't be such a bad score for a round 3 pick. And anything that is not a worst case scenario, the film will get at least $100M. And if we talk about best case scenario, it goes much higher than that. So in any case, it's a good round 3 pick. And could be an excellent one.

I think you've got a great round 3 pick in Super League of Pets, Walleye. it should get to $100M, or close enough if it doesn't. That will make it a strong round 3 pick.

Agree with Chein on Kraven. Morbius is easily among the worst received superhero movies ever made and it still made just under $75 mil. If Kraven is anything above universally panned, it should be able to clear $100 mil.

Walleye has a film on his roster that did not report. How would he go about replacing that? May he pick for free anything from the waiver wire?

STANDINGS (up until August 15th included)
Not much movement in that slow August. but will there be in the coming weeks ? Shryke, Walleye and Screen are close in 2, 3, 4. Spectre has 5th place all to himself, but with only one film released, he can see a bright future ahead. Six is still sixth, thank god. And that combo of Bullet Train and Elvis pushed him over 200M (alright, Firestarter did contribute). Ron B is hoping his upcoming trio of films waiting to open will help him double Six, but will they be enough ? Tranny proves he picked best in round 5 and Boosch watches us all with a grin on his face, whispering "wait til I catch you all".

1. Chien - $791,273,692 (3 films - Easter Sunday, Nope, Top Gun Maverick)
2. Shryke - $470,294,301 (2 films - Paws of Fury, Mrs. Harris Goes to Paris)
3. Walleye - $432,381,482 (3 films - Mack & Rita, DC League of Super Pets, Jurassic World Dominion)
4. Screen - $423,912,677 (3 films - Emily The Criminal, Thor 4, The Black Phone)
5. Spectre - $343,812,525 (1 film - Minions : Rise of Gru)
6. Six - $205,365,182 (2 films - Bullet Train, Elvis)
7. Ron B - $121,799,494 (2 films - Bodies Bodies Bodies, Lightyear)
8. Tranny - $76,036,601 (2 films - Vengeance, Where the Crawdads Sing)
8. Buscemi - $49,158,720 (1 film - Marcel The Shell)

The following films appear to be done :
Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness (Shryke, 1st round) = $411,331,607
The Bob’s Burgers Movie (Shryke, 5th round) = $31,933,830

8/19 :
Dragon Ball Super : Super Hero (Ron B, 11th round)
Beast (Spectre, 7th round)

8/26 :
The Invitation (Ron B, 9th round)
Three Thousand Years of Longing (Ron B, 5th round)
Breaking (Screen, WW)
Samaritan (Shryke, 8th round)
