2019-20 Full Year Draft Thread (Division A)

Re: 2019-20 Full Year Draft Thread (Division A)
I'm thinking that Cardi B.'s popularity is with twelve year-olds for some reason. Adults could easily just go to PornHub if they don't want to pay the $9 but do want to see her playing a stripper (not surprised that she picked the role with the least amount of range possible).
It's like what Lenin said...I am the walrus.

Thanks Leestu for covering for me !
That was close cause I has left him with a list of three films, and two of them had been picked ahead of me, Poms and A Dog's journey. If the first one breaks out like The Book Club did last year it will be a great pick. As for A Dog's journey, the first one made $65M, and those kind of family friendly sequels don't suffer a severe drop from the first one so it should be good for at least 40 millions I think.
I was a bit more wary of Queen and Slim, it's riskier.
Bloodshot, the thing I'm most wary of is its ability to keep its date. You know there's always a few films dates the next year that gets pushed and I'm feeling Bloodshot could be one of them.
Glad I got Angel has Fallen.Even if it keeps on dropping, the first one made almost $100M, the second made more than $60M, so I'm thinking at worst this one does $40M, but it could do more as late August is a desert, and this one has a more conceptual premise than the 2nd one, it should basically be a sort of remake of Air Force One but with Gerard Butler kicking ass in the bodyguard role. For Round 9 I'm glad with it.

Anyone got Jas's list? I'm concerned we'll miss out on The Intruder and Uglydolls if we have to wait for him

Nope, don't have a list. I've PMed him earlier this morning but it seems unlikely he'll post anything befor 3 or 4 hours, I don't know in which time zone he lives... But it should still leave us time to draft Intruder or Uglydolls before 5pm Arizona time.

I had to triple-check to be certain these picks were actually falling to me in this Division:
In Round Nine, I'm going to enjoy a "Midsommar" dream.
And then put one of the biggest franchise characters in modern history to bed with "Rambo: Last Blood".

Excellent pace guys. 21 Bridges and Rambo were high on my list for this round, solid picks.

LOTS of $30-$65M potential earners still in the mix, guys. Another Round's worth, anyway, I should think. Then, the dregs.

I feel like I'll be able to make around 2 more picks before the bottom absolutely falls out of this thing. Going to get ugly really quick.NicodemustheSage wrote:LOTS of $30-$65M potential earners still in the mix, guys. Another Round's worth, anyway, I should think. Then, the dregs.

So it's round 10. I'm going to take a risk, New Mutants.
I know there's like 95% that it's going to be dumped onto streaming. However, I think the reason we have heard anything is because Disney wants to see how Dark Phoenix does. Maybe Dark overperforms and they push New Mutants to Jan or Feb to fill out their superhero slate while we wait for more Marvel. Or Sansa with superpowers flops and New Mutants never sees the light of day.

Now's the right time to be taking risks on films like New Mutants. There are 2 more that seem risky that I'm eyeing up at the moment. Let's see if they fall to me...

SPECTRE: ...I mean, freaking "UglyDolls" is still out there, and that's an all but guaranteed $35M, easy. And, probably, a shit movie, like "The PLAYMOBIL Movie", but, this is a Box Office League, not The Academy Awards. For that matter, "Grudge" and "47 Meters Down" are still on the board, too. Even ugly money is still money, folks.

IF "New Mutants" releases, I can't see it falling below $50M. Yep, now's the Time to snap that up, and just keep a close eye on Buscemi's column. He's the canary for that coal mine.

Re: 2019-20 Full Year Draft Thread (Division A)
Oh sure. There's probably about 15-20 picks on my list before it gets really gross but my Round 12 pick is 25 picks away. At that point, it's a dumpster fire per usual
