And, yeah, U2 (W.) is spot-on with his analysis, all the way around. The only movie star in the world, at this point, may be Tom Cruise, who I'm fair convinced is actually Lestat. At this point I'm wondering if we'll see "Chaos Walking" and "New Mutants" just dumped via streaming, or Fathom, or a $0.99 bin at Wal-Mart. It pisses me off something awful that Tom Holland ("...WHO?" "Star-Lord, man...") had to miss the biggest movie premiere EVER because they wouldn't let him leave reshoots for that piece of radioactive flerken barf. Then again, knowing Holland ("...WHO?!?!?"), he'd have given up the entire plot of "4vengers" before even getting his picture took. :/

I remain, as always.

Wouldn't Dwayne Johnson also fit the bill of a modern movie star? He's usually money at the box office.

I still contest there are people out there who will go see movies depending on who is in them. Maybe not so much the animated movies, but for sure live action movies. Let's agree to disagree

I'm not at home right now. Give me 1-2 hours to think about this. I have six films to narrow down to one.

I'm on standby with my next pick. I'll have it in no more than 90 minutes after Shryke makes his selection.

Even Cruise isn't what he used to be, with films outside of major franchises like MI being somewhat risky. American Made, The Mummy (which was supposed to kick off a franchise), Jack Reacher 2, Oblivion, and Rock of Ages all underperformed or bombed. The smart stars are boarding the franchises, leaving others to wait til their old and grey enough to star in a Downton Abbey reboot.NicodemustheSage wrote:And, yeah, U2 (W.) is spot-on with his analysis, all the way around. Ahhh, fuck it.
I'll go with Aladdin. Since it's the first of three live-action Disney movies based on cartoons from the 90s, I'll hope it does well. I almost took Mulan, but I don't want fatigue to get in (or to have it bumped to summer, which would KILL my slate before it starts). Plus, having my 1-2 picks both come in the second to last month of the season just seemed like too big a risk.
God, this better not be another Wrinkle in Time. Am I right in thinking they're going to do the SAME SONGS in this one that they did in the original?

Alright I'm going to double down on Dwayne Johnson-led projects and go with Hobbs & Shaw.
