Full Year Draft - possible expansion - EVERYONE WEIGH IN

Post by Shrykespeare »

I have a question for all players (Divisions A and B). Please weigh in.

We have typically had 20 players in the Draft Leagues every year, 10 in each division.

However, it doesn't look like any of the current 20 players will be departing, and I have been informed that a couple of people are interested in participating in the upcoming draft.

The way I see it, we have three options:

1. Tell them no, we don't have room at the moment. (1 VOTE)

2. Add two people to the fold - promote 3 players from B to A, but only demote 2 players from A to B; add the two new players to B, thus having 11 players in each league. (8.5 VOTES)

3. Keep Division A at 10 players; add the two new players to Division B, making the divisions uneven at 10 and 12. (5.5 VOTES)

It's usually around Round 14 or 15 that we start to run low on movies with tentative release dates. Having more than 10 players in each division would increase the late-round speculation for sure, as there will be more movies chosen with 11 or 12 players in a division. Alternatively, we could counter this increased number of players by reducing the number of rounds from 16 to 15.

What do y'all think?

I would say that option 2 is probably the best - reducing the amount of rounds would work too.
It's not destroying. It's making something new.

You expressed an interest in joining when you first came to RS... are you still interested, Screen?

Let's try the uneven divisions for this year and then figure it out from there.

Editing to cover all options. I'd prefer Option 3 but I'd be fine with anything but Option 1.

I think we should keep roughly the same number of films drafted though; the amount of speculation at the end is already really high at 160 picks. So I say 15 rounds for Option 2 (165 picks) or 14 rounds for Option 3 (168 picks).

Ideally we could do a Division C at a decent amount of teams and hope to grow it to eventually have them all even but it is what it is for now.

Option 2 with 14 or 15 rounds is my preference but anything apart from option 1 is good with me.

Option 2 for me, keep the numbers equal and drop a round from the draft.

I'm game for 2 or 3. It's my favorite game all year, I'd hate to have folks who really want to play on the outside looking in.

While we're on that, is the BO of Avengers: Endgame going to be included? And if so is it from its first Monday or its second Friday?
