I'm not really buying into the potential of The Fall Guy. Movies about filmmaking rarely take off and does anyone even remember the show it's based on?
I also think a golden opportunity was missed in making it a dumb action-comedy instead of a tentpole version of The Player with Gosling in the Tim Robbins role.

2023-24 Final Standings !!!
This is it. The official final standings of the 2023-24 Reelsociety Annual Draft.
No surprise here, as expected, the Top remains the same compared to the previous weekend. Tranny dominated the season, with no one being a danger to him this year. Congrats buddy, you had a terrific, balanced slate, and not just the huge Barbie. You completely deserved this second victory in a row.
1. Trannyspeare - $1,591,151,402
2. Spectrespeare - $976,801,018
3. Screenspeare - $955,664,388
4. Bankspeare - $828,097,221
5. Walleyespeare - $815,575,862
6. Shrykespearemi - $798,812,623
7. Ronspeare - $581,896,428
8. Chienspeare - $485,988,716
9. Sixspeare - $467,300,435
No one else reached the billion dollar bar, although Spectre and Screen finished less than $50M from it. Good job guys.
At 4, 5 and 6, Banks, Walleye and Shrykemi battled it out til the end too. Banks made a late surge from the bottom to 4th in a couple of months, that was impressive.
Boosch, I’m sure you made Patrick proud. It wasn’t easy to take over his slate in the middle of the draft without preparing it, you handled it great
It’s worth noting that Ron finished well above myself and Six with a slate consisting of only 7 films, and not 12 ! The Aussie never picked his 12th film in the draft, and never replaced 4 films that were never released. Six and I did all the replacements, and had 12 films, and yet we ended up a good $100M behind Ron ! Sure, we were deeply impacted by the strike delays, but still. For the Irish and the French, that was a year to forget !
I updated the first post of this thread with everyone's slates and results.
Thanks to you all for playing all year long.

Now that our new draft is on the way, here's a little recap of the best and worst choices made in each round of the previous draft, which will show that last year, round 7 was more fruitful than rounds 5 and 6, and that you can draft a few good films in the late rounds. Re: 2023-24 Full Year Slates - The Shryke Draft
And to think, this time last year I was so annoyed I didn't draft The Exorcist Believer, and was convinced it would make $150m.
And what was I on when I picked Ruby Gillman??? I thought it would be a sleeper family film. I blame being past my baby's due date and the anxiety around that (even though I was drafting during labour!!!)

Re: 2023-24 Full Year Slates - The Shryke Draft
Looking back at it, I had a pretty good draft. Didn’t really take a bust and had a couple best of round picks (Trolls/Five Nights). My main issue was taking so many TBDs to the point where I had to make 5 waiver pickups for my 12 film slate (but didn’t use my waiver priority )
Well, that and not drafting Barbie lol. Nothing to be done to catch tranny this year, he crushed it.
