Yeah, fine. But can promotion/relegation be suspended for the time being? It doesn't feel right to penalize people for situations beyond anyone's control.
I'm not sure what you mean.
Say there's another breakout with a month left in the season and a player loses half their lineup. They should not be forced to be relegated to Division B because they didn't see such a situation happening. I don't think we should promote or relegate until we know everything is safe.

If that situation were to occur, the entire game would get derailed anyways, so I don't think pausing promotions and demotions is at all necessary.

Moving on, I'm fine with restarting the normal game for 2-3 months before getting back into the Full Year Draft or running both simultaneously from the jump. At this point, I just want to restart the game next month in some capacity.

And Shryke, I'll happily return to the pricing committee.

Thanks Six and Tranny.

And Boosh, Tranny has it right - if there's another breakout the season will be called on account of rain. For this test run before things get back into full swing, there will be no Division A or B. It'll be comprised of whoever wants to play. Nothing's at stake. I don't even think I'm going to ask that there be a weekly column for now.

Other news: Nico may be back for this.
Happy 40th birthday Chris Evans! (6/13/21)

I’d be in for a test run of whatever, just itching to get back in the swing of things!

What does everybody expect for In The Heights?

I'm thinking $30-35 mil, but wouldn't be surprised if it went higher. A vibrant musical seem like the kind of thing that could really pop in the current climate.

It will do well with theatre kids and on the coasts but I wouldn't expect much success otherwise. Its biggest success will be on HBO Max.

I'm guessing $20 million three-day.

That's pretty much what I expect. I don't see anything doing that well until F9 comes out.

Should I move these predictions to a separate thread until the game restarts?

I think this thread is doing just fine in serving as a place to make predictions during this ramp up period.

I really thought In The Heights was going to pop. My crowd was super excited about it. But it seems to be underperforming. Not sure if that's because everyone is watching on HBOMax or what cause the reviews are ecstatic.

As I said, it's not a film that's going to play in traditional middle America. The more conservative crowd isn't going to care about the plight of the community in Washington Heights. They're going to be more into the loud action of F9 or the violent right-wing fantasies of The Forever Purge.

I thought a big, upbeat musical would be the perfect overindexing candidate for this moment, but clearly that wasn't the case at all. It should be able to post a solid multiplier though.
