I will take The Campaign, and to balance out my slate a little, To Rome With Love.

I couldn't afford to take a movie which would cost $20 and make probably similar Top 5 Points to The Campaign, but cost $2 more and have a much worse IMDB. And it's not like I need the BO dollars.

Still really struggling to see how to play the rest of the draft. More expensive movies certainly seem to be out of the equation for me now, with only $26 left and 5 movies to pick. Picking TDKR has been both a blessing and a curse. Smart drafting is certainly required. I suspect it is a similar situation for you too, Shryke, though you have a little more legroom with the extra $4 and already three very solid BO picks.

W only sent me a list of 4 movies and they are all gone now. I don't think he was expecting this round to go this fast.

Ah, well, nevermind. Thanks tranny. Just gotta sit and wait it out. Certainly helps the draft speed having most of our league as very regular contributors to the forum, though.

Well, I'm building this slate like I try to build my slates in every other Ultimate league... three to four wide-release films, and then four to five PTA picks. How much I have to spend on those PTA picks depends on what's available. I won't shell out $10-$15 for a wide-release film just because it's available if its Top 5 prospects aren't good. If that hurts me in Box Office, so be it.

Re: June-August Drafting Thread (Division A)
I'm trying to treat my slate in a similar way, but obviously having shelled out half my budget on TDKR I have to make allowances in some areas and hope I can make up the slack. Will probably end up a similar slate to many who take the movie in their own June Ultimate leagues. And yes, I was temped by a couple of $10-$15 picks, but for their top 5 value it just isn't worth it. Lots of calculations to do though...Shrykespeare wrote:Well, I'm building this slate like I try to build my slates in every other Ultimate league... three to four wide-release films, and then four to five PTA picks. Edit: And there goes one of those picks. Will possibly do well, but the more I looked at it, I just didn't see the value for PTA/Top 5's. I could be very wrong about it, obviously, but with stiff competition it will likely only be strong in the other two categories.
