I think that budget estimate is accurate. If it only makes $10m it'll be a disaster/ But not surprising considering what's going on with them

I have been wondering about that one recently. It felt like it had a lot of buzz a year ago, but it has died out completely. I expected there to be more of a marketing campaign than there has been, and the lack of a Cannes premiere is really strange.

At this point, I feel like Stillwater will outgross it. There has been a good amount of marketing for it (including Damon doing a lot of interviews), and reviews are good. I don't think that the movie is at all what it is being advertised as (I don't think it will be a conservative film, even though Damon's character obviously is), which will probably harm legs, though.

Good reviews didn't help Zola catch on with audiences and considering The Green Knight seems like its going to be super slow and weird, it also seems destined to be a non-starter. However, I do think David Lowery has enough cache with the A24 super fans for it to pull down $10-12 mil.

I feel like they could have advertised this as a mainstream action-horror film though. WOM would be awful, but many more would have seen it.

I haven't seen the film but I believe one of the reasons why LeBron took his talents to the West Coast was to become an actor after he finished his playing days. We might have to wait until his House Party remake (where I believe he'll be playing the role originated by Robin Harris) to make a full critique.

The Comeback Trail was pulled from the release schedule a few weeks back. I have a feeling it will get sold off to Netflix or another streamer.

Meanwhile, it looks like Joe Bell will be a money loser for every label that had it. Solstice bought it for $20 million and I imagine sold it for a loss, Lionsgate will lose money from its greatly-reduced release platform, and Vertical likely won't make much from it when it hits VOD in a few weeks. Interesting that a film with such mixed word started such a bidding war last fall. How much longer before Mark Wahlberg becomes a Netflix exclusive actor?

Im slightly concerned about the PTA winners. It would seem independent cinema is not playing well with the current cinema release schedule.

This said, i think we could probably develop another category which is more fitting for the times, perhaps user rating (as opposed to critic rating). Not sure which basis to use for that though. Just cant really rely on imdb ratings so much these days- though that comment is more based on TV shows recent ratings.

What do you all think? Time to find another category? If im totally wrong, please do keep things as there are
