Surfer and I were the only ones to ever submit picks. No one else even bothered.

Re: A New Kind of Movie Club
After this failed attempt starting a club by committee, I will have my own go at a specialized movie club. Starting Thursday, I will begin a weekly series (in addition to my daily Film Score of the Day series on the Reel Society Facebook page) where I select seven films from a given month in time and go over why I picked them.
Why seven? It ties with the name of the series. The series will be named Criterion Dungeon, after the basement level of the now-defunct Criterion Center in New York City. When the theatre closed in 2000, it had seven screens. Now, I've never been to New York but I have been interested in the history of movie theatres in the city and the Criterion Center to me is one of the most fascinating. So, why not do a tribute?
As for the types of movies, I will focus on films from 1975 to now. The reasons for this being a. availability and b. the multiplex theme. Now, you are not obligated to watch all of the movies. But if you want to, that's great too.
The theme month for the pilot episode (based on random selection): November 1988.

I'll be curious to discover the films you select, Boosch.
