Was a little surprised by the screenplay wins, as neither felt like the strongest of their categories.
And Emma Stone was a slight surprise, as odds favoured Gladstone.
I did win £100 on Cillian though, so I'm happy

You're not the only one.
I had a sneaking suspicion it would do well because kids have been starved of appropriate films in the cinema. Wish I had gone all-in on it

Re: Rate That Movie Part IV: Movies Never Sleep
Dune Pt 2 - 7/10 I very impressive sequel that tries to cover the dense first book, and doesn't quite do so. Once again Villeneuve captures the world perfectly, with incredibly cinematography and use of sound and music. More impressively, it never quite relishes in the war and battles, but instead ...

Odd, given how well Pearl was received. Perhaps it has a fest ready to go, such as SXSW

Re: Screening The Releases - March 1st
I think it was a hit on streaming, because financially the $400m global the first made isn't exactly amazing, but then again it came out when a lot of people were still worried about COVID. Deadline are predicting a global OW of $170m or so, which would be pretty impressive

Re: Screening The Releases - March 1st
Its Thurs number is $12m at the moment, so I wouldn't be surprised to see it hit anywhere between 80 and 90m at this rate

Agreed with Chien. I guess I missed that conversation too, but if it's coming out on separate release dates and sites like BOM and The Numbers are separating them, then we should too. Presumably, for the next draft we won't be lumping the Horizon films together, for example, as we wouldn't have for ...

Re: What Are You Watching Right Now? Episode 3 - Turtles in Time
My theory about older people is that they're so used to watching TV at home and talking through it that they fail to realise they're in a cinema full of other people. This happened to me last year as a couple decided to comment on everything. The great thing about the UK is everyone is so posh and p...

Re: ShrykeVerse Top Movies of the 80's Countdown
I watched Heaven's Gate on New Years Eve for the first time, as I nabbed the Criterion Blu-ray for cheap. It's the full version. I was impressed by it. The scale is amazing, and the bitterness of the theme and the main character who isn't the nicest. I'd argue it's too long, particularly the opening...

Yep. Had a while ago, I think, but never bothered to commit. Now I've put almost every feature film I've seen on it. Strangely, my life doesn't feel any better.

SIX TIPS, OR HOW TO PLEASE YOUR SLATE – THE FILMS OF 2/23
It seems love was in the air last week, or at least one love as One Love surprised pundits and defied critics by opening to a massive $52m as people got ready and were left waiting in vain to get seats for sold-out shows. With a great cinemascore and RT user rating, expect Bob’s positive vibrations ...
