I didn't like In A Violent Nature either, I can't imagine anyone would recommend that to a friend.
It's basically a student film, with the acting and effects to match. Interesting idea, and I wonder if a higher budget would've helped the execution.

Re: 2024-25 Full Year Slates
It's all fun and games until MaXXXine opens to $100M, and ends up winning Best Picture somehow
(Wasn't there an idea once to have Oscar/award season bonuses for the FY game? Like Best Picture winners gets an extra $25M or something similar)

Re: 2024-25 Yearlong Box Office League Waiver Wire
A24 wants to make money (see: Civil War), they'll give this way more press than The Iron Claw. And none of those undated films on their shelves have The Rock and Emily Blunt. Having just watched Iron Claw yesterday, I can see why they didn't think it'd make much money, but they fucked up not pushing...

Re: The Latest Date Changes 2: The New Batch
The Exorcism has been pushed to June 21st. Given the barren weekend, it wouldn't surprise me if this ended up being another Shudder title that opens wide. Is this the Russell Crowe one? Damn, we'll have to wait a little longer for the next installment in the RCEU. Universal hasn't said anything off...

Re: 2024-25 YEARLONG BOX-OFFICE DRAFT LEAGUE
To close it out, I'll take something that's still filming but Sony doesn't have anything scheduled between January and May of next so hopefully it'll land somewhere in there: SNL75 Hopefully it can be the return of good Jason Reitman and not whatever Ghostbuster bs he's been doing for the last few y...

Re: 2024-25 YEARLONG BOX-OFFICE DRAFT LEAGUE
One thing I didn't expect was a The Strangers monopoly.
Another TBA coming round - I'll take A24's We Live In Time and hope the star power of Andrew Garfield and Florence Pugh will light up awards season.

Re: 2024-25 YEARLONG BOX-OFFICE DRAFT LEAGUE
And even if the movie actually is good, the only people that likely end up seeing it are the QAnon people who want their Wolf of Wall Street. Hey, their money is as green as anyones! I considered both Spider-Verse and Flight Risk for my last pick. But I suspect Spider-Verse might take that June 27,...

Re: 2024-25 YEARLONG BOX-OFFICE DRAFT LEAGUE
No worries UDM, no rush since somebody already snagged the mega-hit that is Tarot! Last I saw, Legally Blonde 3 was going to be a series on Amazon but who knows at this point. Round 10 means time for some TBAs for me. First up is gonna be The Apprentice , which hopefully will play Cannes well and pi...

I'll give Walleye some time to re-pick if he wants, although Five Nights at Freddy proved that Peacock doesn't matter

Re: 2024-25 YEARLONG BOX-OFFICE DRAFT LEAGUE
Sorry guys, weird night for me last night. I've no interest in Tarot so no harm, no foul. I'll go ahead and take The Forge . It's the Kendrick Brothers, and I actually watched it in January at a pre-screening. It's about on par as the rest of their stuff, but they all seem to make around $40M so hop...
