I'm already almost done . My symptoms are really mild so far, and I'm on Paxlovid, so I'm doing fine. Hope everyone else is doing well!transformers2 wrote: ↑January 25th, 2024, 9:16 pmPlease don't feel pressured to write that shit when you're sick! We'll be totally fine as a group without a column this week

Re: COLUMN SCHEDULE
I hate to do this, but I have COVID and will probably have to do a shortened column this week - spoiler alert - I don't think any of this week's releases will do particularly well.

Re: COLUMN SCHEDULE
I will be playing this season - just haven't had the time to get my slates up yet.transformers2 wrote: ↑January 23rd, 2024, 3:30 pmI'll handle the 2nd as well since Screen is doing this week's column. On a related note, Screen, are you playing this season? I haven't gotten either of your slates yet.

Screening The Releases - January 5th
Last Week What initially seemed like a very rough holiday season turned out to not be so bad overall, due to a diverse variety of options for audiences to choose from. Number one went to Wonka, which has had a very solid run throughout the holidays. Over the 3-day, it grossed 22.5 m (up 25 percent ...

Re: Holiday Sports Movie Box Office Showdown
It seems like The Boys In The Boat did win out, though it's doing better (at least so far) than I expected. Even with a heavy preview share, it opened to nearly 6 m over Christmas Day, and it outgross American Underdog at the very least; I think it can do 35-40 m, and potentially more, unless it is ...

Re: Screening The Releases - December 22nd
I think the film that loses the most money this holiday season (besides Aquaman) will likely be Ferrari. It has a nearly 100 m budget and seems likely to do a fourth or less of that in the US, though it should do better overseas. I can't imagine the individual distributors will lose that much on it,...

Migration (TV-spot esque trailer with the ducks singing I Love You Always Forever by Donna Lewis) Ahh yes. Leave it to Illumination to ruin classic 90s songs. :( It was an odd choice for sure - I would have thought they would have chosen something more recent. Trailers before Poor Things - Love Lie...

Screening The Releases - December 22nd
Last Week Wonka had a solid debut, grossing 39 m this weekend. With solid reviews and audience reception, strong legs over the holidays should follow. In second, The Hunger Games... continued it's solid run, dropping just 37 percent from last weekend to gross almost 6 m, for a total of 145 m so far...
