This one is REALLY EASY. Seriously.

I found a website called iflist.com, where people can propose cast members for books to be made into movies (or sometimes not even books, just ideas in their heads). Anyone can "support" an idea, and the more support it has, the more chance someone in the film/TV industry may take notice.

Maybe I don't have a prayer, but I thought, "What the hell". So I signed Joshua's Island up, found seven young actors to play the key roles, and threw it into the mix.

Now I need your help. Again, this is SO easy. Like, two clicks and you're done.

1. Simply go to my book's page on the site:

http://www.iflist.com/stories/joshuasisland#

2. Log in using Facebook, and then click on the "Supported" button on the right.

And you're done!

Whether you've read the book or not, every vote counts. Let's send Joshua's Island to the big screens, where maybe, just maybe, it'll be part of the yearly draft next year!

Thank you in advance.

I'm up to 12 "supports". Only 8,000 to go. ;)

I need everyone's help. This is really easy, it'll take 30 seconds of your time.

A site called Read Freely is having a contest to determine the "50 Self-Published Books Most Worth Reading 2015". I got a bunch of friends to nominate Joshua's Island, and I apparently survived the first cut. There are now just over 100 books left in the running, and I now need votes to make it into the Top 50.

Since there is no YA category, I have been relegated to the "Other" category, which is fine, I guess.

This is SO easy, you guys, and every vote counts. Click this link. At the bottom of the page, select Joshua's Island, and then add your name, nickname or Twitter Handle, followed by your e-mail address, and then submit. That is IT!

Also: I understand that everyone gets three votes. I don't know if that means you have to vote for three different books, or whether you can vote for the same book three times, as the rules aren't exactly clear. So if everyone could vote three times, so much the better!

Please, guys. Just a few seconds of your time is all I'm asking. Vote for Joshua's island! Whether you've read it or not!

Thanks, as always.

OMG.

I am currently running a two-day free promo for Joshua's Island on Amazon. I've advertised the crap out of it on numerous free-book sites.

Since midnight this morning, I've had 137 downloads. But the best part is this: in the Kindle Library, for free books on Bullying, I am, at the moment, BEATING James Patterson.

JP actually has two books in the Top Ten in this category, but, for the moment anyway, I am ahead of "I Are Funny".

Well, this won't last, of course, but now I can say that, for a few hours anyway, I was ahead of the all-mighty James Freakin' Patterson.

Yay!

Guys, I have some of the best news I've ever imparted to tell you.

A few months ago, I entered Joshua's Island in the Readers' Favorite Book Contest, one of the largest and most prestigious literary competitions in the country.

There are many categories, but I entered J.I. in the Young Adult/Social Issues category. The results came back today.

I won, guys.

(My categories is about 1/4 down the page.)

Assuming I've recovered from my surgery by then, I'll be going down to Miami in November to accept my award, meet a ton of other authors, and maybe jump-start this into something else.

Thank you all for your amazing support, fellas. You are all my buds.

Been a while since I've posted on this thread, so let me catch y'all up on my literary accomplishments of the past two years:

1. After winning a Readers Favorite Award Gold Medal for Joshua's Island in 2015, I followed that up with a "Finalist" kudo for Ethan's Secret in 2016 and, just two weeks ago, a Silver Medal for Sophie's Different. Joshua's Island also won the Independent Author Network's Book of the Year award last year. (I entered Ethan this year, still awaiting the results.)

2. My science-fantasy series debuted in April with Pawns, Book One in the Wielders of Arantha series. Book Two, Queens, is now available for pre-order on Amazon:

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B075FW ... s_rw_dp_sw

3. If you like audiobooks, both Joshua and Ethan are available in that format as well. I just engaged a professional narrator to do the entire Wielders series (even though Book Three is not written yet.)

If ANYONE would like a free copy of any of my books, PLEASE don't hesitate to ask.
