It seems pretty well thought thru - and I think it will work. Willing to give it a go for sure.

One thing I'm not clear on: when does the bidding stop? Say if we're bidding on Sept-Nov as above, does the bidding for every film in that round stop before the start of the first weekend, or is bidding rolling and only the films coming out each weekend are removed from the bidding the Friday before their release? So basically this Friday does ALL bidding stop or just for the 3 films coming out this weekend?

Besides that I like the idea of this game, and the logic of breaking the year into 10 3-month blocks makes sense, because it will align with the Full game Shryke runs.

We'll need a good few players to get involved in order to make the most of outbidding each other, which is where the fun will lie.

I was planning on all bidding stopping this Friday at the times listed in the OP: 8 PM EST, 5 PM PST, 12 PM GMT Friday. So I guess it's technically Saturday for GMT. It'd be a little much to do this every single week and you'd be bidding three times at the same time for one film as of now. But like I said I'm completely open to changes.

We could also throw the stuff that doesn't get bid on into a 2 day waiver system like the other full year, but bidding instead of waiver priority. But if people aren't understanding it already, I'm not sure throwing this in helps at all.

And updated through this post.

so let me get this straight, we can only have 40 films for the whole year and we are doing this every month. So 12 3 month games within the year? So ideally it would be best to have 3 films each game because you're points accumulate? or what happens if you don't have any films one month with no points?

sorry, just trying to get the gist

Your stats accumulate, points are only calculated at the end of the year, not the end of the season. So if you get first place in September with $200 M, 20 T5, 25 PTA, and 63 IMDb you don't get x amount of points, you get $200 M, 20 T5, 25 PTA, and 63 IMDb.

Just like in the year long box office you're not trying to win July with $500 M, you're trying to win the year with $1.5 B or whatever.

oh ok, i think it's starting to make sense.

OK, theoretically 3 of your 40 films could be the same film?

Yep. You'd have to be the highest on it all three times, so it could screw you if it fails or if you could find a gem nobody is looking at like Don't Breathe.

Updated

Little less than a day left. It ends at exactly the stated time. If someone gets a bid in and the time stamp says 5:00 Pacific, you're too late. Even though it means nothing in the long run, I'm hoping for a flurry of bids at the last second and what amounts to a photo finish situation.

If that happens, I'll very much look forward to this every month.
