I thought about The Accountant - you really can't beat a pairing of Ben Affleck and Anna Kendrick in an action thriller, that sounds so fucking off the wall and interesting. Plus Oscar winner JK Simmons?

But I feel like WB might have high hopes for it and put in the summer. If it does come out this season, it'll be a helluva steal this late.

I don't see it as a summer movie, but indeed the risk is there.

Besides I took as a sign that on Imdb is listed in the cast an actor whose name is Chien.

I considered it after it was drafted in Division B, but I don't have much faith in the director's Box Office sensibilities, IMDB has it listed as a drama, not a thriller, and the title reminds me too much of The Counselor, which flopped hard. It felt like something more likely to get released next Fall, so I passed on it.

The Accountant could be a home run pick here but I'd be surprised to see it released in early 2016. Well worth the risk this late though.

I think I'll close my draft out with The Sea of Trees. Should be legit Oscar bait with Van Sant and McConaughey can definitely draw at the box office. Plus I'll have a much better idea of its prospects after Cannes and can always drop it if I don't like what I see.

Sorry for the delay guys. I just got back from Ex-Machina, and this final pick is a surprisingly tough one. In the end, I decided to go with the relative safety of a late summer Jeebus movie. I'll pick War Room.

I guess we don't want the draft to end ;)

The presence of Matt McConaughey is the only reason I was playing with the idea of drafting Sea of Trees, because Van Sant's films don't do well at the BO generally. Maybe McCo will give him another dimension.

I will take Max Steel. Open Road has given all of their films a decent release, as long as Eli Roth isn't involved.

Agreed. He's had a few good performers but several BO misses as well. Whether I keep it or not will be based largely on how it's received in Cannes and who ends up handling US distribution. That'll go a long way in telling me whether it'll have any box office appeal.

I'm leery of taking TBA's, but I'm going to go with Legend for my last pick. It has a release date overseas, it's from the director of 42 and you can't go wrong with Tom Hardy playing identical twins.

It's hard enough getting an audience to show up for a movie where Tom Hardy has one lead role, so I kinda doubt double the Hardy is the answer. And I don't think the Krays are well known in the US, either. There was a movie about the Kray Brothers in the 80s starring the guys from Spandau Ballet and I'm pretty sure that flopped in North America.

Then again it is the final round so what the hell...
