Getting back to this, sorry it took so long--

With the significant amount of interest, ill say best to have a top 10 tops...with honourable mentions if need be before the count.

So, lets aim for June 2022? Top 10? I can handle the countdown.

Can we have a list of contributors?

I was going to ask for possible interest in a best of 2021 music countdown, just like we had this year.

If interested, answer the following questions:

1. How many songs would you want to do?
2. When would you want to start?

I'll say follow the same criteria as last year: 50 songs and start sometime in early-to-mid January.

1. Doesn't matter. I'll jump in when I'm ready, as usual. Probably just a top 10 from me.

2. I'd rather see it wrap up by New Year's Eve so another miserable year can be put into the rear view mirror.

I'd prefer to see 25 songs.

It'll make us leaner and meaner. Any more feels like a slog.

Happy to start whenever although because of work I won't be around much until the Xmas hols.

Yeah, John, we can't really start until the year is over because you never know what might come last minute to make the list.

I'm down for 50. If you would prefer to join at #25 or #10, that's fine. Maybe we can get a few more opinions.

The problem with 50 is that if you start in Jan you're not done til mid Feb and we're well into the new year instead of looking at the previous.

Ill be pushing (less than) 10 at this stage, so im thinking 25 is much better than 35. Thats just me, be good to hear from Surf and leestu though. Besides, lets be honest, lots of these songs will be first time listens to the community here, and not everyone will like everyones songs, so the less the more concise- the better.

You can always do 177 honourable mentions before we really start...

Well, every critic in the world -- music, film, and otherwise -- publishes their best of lists in December, so I don't see any reason why we couldn't do the same. Like Six said, posting these songs until mid February seems a bit late to me, but since Shryke has to do all the organizing, I'm fine with however he wants to do it.

How about Top 30, starting in early January? Then we'd be done (or damn close) by the time we hit February.

The downside is that everyone will have to have complete lists to me (or at least the first batch) to me by New Years.

Again, if you don't want to do 30, you can join us at 20, or 10, or wherever you want.
