I have a question actually.
How do we consider a song that was first released in its native country in 1999, but was released everywhere else, UK, US, France etc in 2000/2001 ?
Is the song eligible because the album was only released in our shores after 1/1/2000 ?

It counts only if the act is from Iceland.

When we're done with the 2020 music countdown, should we consider a Best Of 2010's list? (For film)

We definitely should consider this, yes, either, best since 2000, or best of the 2010's.

Hi again,

I know it's been a year since we first discussed this idea, and I was wondering if anyone was still on board with it. If no one else is interested, I understand (especially since it has been so long, and I just proposed a revival of the weekly column- which I do think I will actually be able to manage, at least for the foreseeable future - I'm not sure why I didn't think I could, and I'm already writing some in advance just in case others can't contribute).

Let me know if anyone is still interested.

While I'd be down for that in theory, I also feel like it would be slightly repetitive since we've already done a best of the millennium and a best of all-time, so there would be a lot of overlap.

As I've suggested before, if we want to do another massive movie countdown, I think it'd be more interesting and fresh to tackle a favourite directors list.

I think the favorite directors list is a good idea, but I'm not sure we could make a top 100 out of it. Maybe a top 25?

Another potentially interesting suggestion I don't think anyone has recommended before is top movie soundtracks/scores. Maybe we could also do top 100 (or less) lists about other mediums such as TV or video games?

I'm willing to participate in any countdown that materializes, but I will say that I disagree with John on the Best of the 2010's list. We did the Best of the Millennium list at the beginning of 2017 and the combination of throwing another 3 years' worth of films into the pool and elapsed time means there's strong likelihood we'd be looking at vastly different lists from everybody. I can say with total certainty that my list would be at least 80% different.

Glancing at my ratings history on imdb, I'm not seeing much from my highest rated films that wasn't already featured in my best of the millennium list, and the few newer titles are ones I probably talked about during our yearly recaps, so there wouldn't be much on my list I haven't plugged here beforehand. If your memory is as bad as mine there might be some surprises, but otherwise you'll probably see most of my picks coming.
