If The Grinch ends up underperforming, this is going to be the worst FY slate I've ever drafted by a million miles

If I did end up in last place, it would undoubtedly be moved to the last weekend of April again That being said, I'm still likely to end up with either Star Wars, Aladdin, The Lion King or Frozen 2, which would likely be enough to keep me out of the basement for a 2nd straight year.Walleye413 wrote:Avengers 4 for you next year baby!transformers2 wrote:If The Grinch ends up underperforming, this is going to be the worst FY slate I've ever drafted by a million miles

usually there are like 2 sure fire hits that will outgross everything else, but those 5 could all easily make $500M.

Disney, Disney, Disney, Disney, and Disney. Oh, also Dumbo (not in the game), Captain Marvel (not in the game), Toy Story 4, Spider-Man: Far From Home. $4 billion for those nine movies is absolutely possible. They could beat the yearly studio record ($3B) by over $1 billion.undeadmonkey wrote:usually there are like 2 sure fire hits that will outgross everything else, but those 5 could all easily make $500M.
Tenet: Criterion Edition. Now with more Backwards Man.

Sony is distributing Far from Home, as they own distribution rights to Spider-Man in perpetuity. Same thing with Universal and The Incredible Hulk.

I'll admit I've looked ahead. The top of next year's draft is going to be crazy. Always a chance for spots 8-10, but those are going to be some steep hills to climb.

Lionsgate had planned on going wide but the dreadful limited result (I can't say I'm surprised, as it looked like 90 minutes of strawmanning on both sides with terrible production values) led them to stall at 300 theatres.BanksIsDaFuture wrote:I really thought The Oath would at least go wide at some point, and cash in on the election season.
They are still running trailers for it here.

On one hand, it's basically a TV edit of Deadpool 2 being sent to theatres as Fox has nothing for Christmas. On the other hand, Deadpool fans are an obsessive bunch. If not for the people who actually liked Venom, they would be Marvel's version of the Snydercut group.
