After an hour of my vile language and repetitive presentations, Chien is here to class up the joint with his thoughts on Best Picture nominee Good Time:
If there was a crime committed at last year’s Cannes Film Festival, and during the latest Awards season, it’s that the Safdie brothers film were completely shut out and forgotten. I’ve never really been a huge fan of their cinema up until now, and honestly went into it without great expectations. I think that’s probably why it made such an impression on me.

The pace of the film feels like heartbeats. The colours and the music take us back to a style that feels much more 70’s and 80’s, and yet Good Time is a very modern and contemporary film.
Another reason I wasn’t expecting much of it is that Robert Pattinson is the lead of this New York night wandering of a guy who tries to collect money to bail his brother out of jail. And yet again, another surprise. Pattinson is immensely good in it. It’s actually the first time I felt he is a true actor, disappearing in the skin of his character and making him feel so real, and not just an actor’s acting.

The colours, the beat, the music, the New York atmosphere, the acting. Yes, Good Time is not just a good film. It’s a great film.

Not sure why Baby Driver is considered a musical. No one actually sings in it.

Here's jas with our 5th featurette of the night for the Tonya Harding biopic I, Tonya:
Discovering the truth behind one the craziest and darkest moments in sports is the subject of the film I,Tonya. I, Tonya shows us a glimpse behind the curtain of one the most controversial figures in sports, as we witness Tonya Harding’s pursuit of being a world class ice skater, her whirlwind relationship with Jeff Gillooly and ultimately the roller coaster ride of celebrity and infamy around the incident leading up to the 1994 Winter Olympics. Featuring a sharp, and witty script, I,Tonya tells its story through the multiple viewpoints of its characters portrayed by an amazing cast from Margot Robbie’s spellbinding turn as Tonya Harding, to Allison Janney’s tour de force performance as Tonya’s mom LaVona, providing a well rounded view of Tonya’s story that touches on the pursuit of excellence, class, abuse, truth, celebrity and the price that comes with it allowing the audience to see the characters for the people they are and not the caricatures we perceive them to be proving that sometimes truth can be stranger than fiction. Nominated for five awards tonight including Best Picture, this is I,Tonya.
