Looks like a Lifetime movie. Getting Rachel Bilson (Doug Liman's muse basically as he's the only reason she has a career) to star and the guy who did the terrible Chris Pine (pre-Star Trek, of course) film Blind Dating to direct (he's done a lot of TV movies) doesn't help.
And I think the reason why we never see Nikki Blonsky in anything for theatres is because Hairspray pretty much typecast her as the proud fat girl for the rest of her career. Every role she's done since has been that role and on TV (the Lifetime movie Queen Sized, the ABC Family series that was doomed from the start Huge, etc.). Strangely enough, every other actor in that film seems to doing just fine.
