The most I've ever seen before a movie was seven (I saw seven on The Princess and the Frog, Invictus, Signs and a few others).

Now that I think of it, I did once see eight previews before a movie. The movie was Agent Cody Banks 2 (most of the previews were for kids' movies but previews for The Whole Ten Yards and The Stepford Wives also showed up). I also remember a free showing of Catch That Kid which had an intermission (there were two shows one hour apart and only one print) and trailers shown during that intermission.

Man, it's pretty much the norm over here to get 3 trailers maximum, sometimes only two. I guess having 8 movie trailers before the movie would really stretch out the time you are waiting!

When Star Wars Episode III came out, George Lucas wanted a maximum of five trailers. If you went over, you lost your print. Needless to say, theatres listened and and a boring set of trailers came around (such as a trailer for the Michael Bay dud The Island).

I kind of wish that some theatres had been daring and run some trailers for less mainstream titles (had I run a theatre, I would have attached a Hustle and Flow trailer).

No Splice trailer? I expected that trailer to be on Clash Of The Titans. Maybe Warner Bros. is saving it for The Losers (Dark Castle produced The Losers and is presenting Splice through Warner Bros.).

Trailers before How To Train Your Dragon in 3-D:

The Last Airbender (new trailer)
Despicable Me (3-D version of second trailer, I still don't know what the hell happens in this movie)
Legend Of The Guardians (3-D trailer, this actually looks good)
Toy Story 3 (3-D trailer, my mother thinks Ken has some bad fashion)
Shrek Forever After (new 3-D trailer, didn't expect to see Frumpy Pigskin as the villain this time)
Megamind (3-D trailer, disappointed by the lack of Brad Pitt in its very short trailer but I liked the use of Highway To Hell for Will Ferrell's introduction)

The Splice trailer is only on a handful on CoTT prints. It looks badass though.

Before Kick Ass we got:

Iron Man 2
Robin Hood
Get Him To The Greek

Iron Man definitely got the best reception (though I'm still not convinced by it, I just worry it just won't match up to the first one and the trailer is doing nothing [other than the briefcase transformation] to suggest it is going to be fun - too many characters I think and not enough character development. I was really hoping for something regarding Stark's drinking problem. And Mickey Rourke is looking a little too Mr. Freeze for his own good). The other two held a kind of deflated interest.

Why am I convinced that Get Him To The Greek will be nothing more than Russell Brand promoting his fiancee's albums?
