I am iffy on this one as well. I love Jim as much as anyone but this has a very video game look to it.
Thoughts?

If this is the 3:30 long one, I love it. It explains the story perfectly and the visuals look amazing. This reminds me more of the Avatar Day footage, instead of that shitty teaser trailer.
Can't wait.
I don't like how they defy the Marines' orders and try to help the Na'vi, though. That sounds so cliche. But I guess when Cameron stole the story, he didn't want to change too much.

You can't wait... but you hate the basic plot of the movie haha

My gut tells me this will be technically outstanding but will lack in terms of plot and character....
Re: Avatar (2nd Trailer)
i think James Cameron has surrounded himself with so many Yes-Men over the past decade (or more) that nobody had the balls to remind him about that whole "suspension of disbelief" thing that most director's employ in their films

From the Avatar Day stuff, I know it'll look great, but the story will suck.

A friend and I watched this while on break today. I think it looks pretty epic, my friend thinks it takes too much from movies like Total Recall. However, he did enjoy the political aspect of the plot.

It's been a very long time since I've seen the movie, but in what way does this trailer possibly parallel Total Recall? The only thing I can think of is his being on an alien planet and siding with the rebels... so this movie also takes from star wars?Buscemi wrote:A friend and I watched this while on break today. At least we can abort fetuses. Bad grammar and language last a lifetime.

Re: Avatar (2nd Trailer)
He thought that one of the battle scenes looked similar to an action scene from Total Recall. I thought the connection was weird too.
