Trailer: The Lion King

It seems that lightning will not strike twice for Jon Favreau in terms of remaking classic Disney movies.

Will not? Based on what? Trailer looks pretty solid to me.

This is going to be HUGE...HUGE!!!

The buzz is already high, it appeals to all audiences, the visuals look amazing. Not sure how lightening will not strike twice?!? Me thinks this will be the biggest remake of a classic yet, topping Beauty and Beast.

Yea, depending on how Avengers 4 and Star Wars 9 do, The Lion King could give those two a run for their money for the top film of 2019.

On another note, one that has less to do with box office performance, I'm so conflicted about this movie. While i woulndt consider The Lion King my absolutely favorite film, it is the film i have probably seen the most in my life. I can't help but nitpick, 'uhhh, Rafiki had some kind of fruit thing, not some dusty root branches'. It's going to be so hard to separate the two. Also i'm still worried about Beyonce, she has such a distinctive voice, I don't want to see a lion talk and be reminded every time, oh that's beyonce

I meant lightning strikes twice in terms of film quality. The Jungle Book worked because Favreau was able to expand on the story while also staying true to the 1967 version (Favreau is a big Disney buff and wanted to respect the Disney legacy while also doing his own thing). The Lion King just looks exactly like the original.

they basically showed scenes from the first 5 minutes of the movie (besides the wildebeest and the paw), don't think you can make that assumption yet.
