I did not realize this is the fourth version of this movie. I haven't seen any of them, but it seems like Cooper is doing a Kris Kristofferson impression. If you told me Bradley Cooper, Lady Gaga, Sam Elliott, Dave Chapelle, and Andrew Dice Clay were starring in a film together, I wouldn't know what to think.

Oh yeah, this looks great. Definitely will be huge this fall, kicking myself I let it get past me in the draft.
I'm curious what the studio had to do to get Gaga to not be credited as her real name, like she planned to initially.

I liked this movie when it was called Crazy Heart.
And from what I've read, Warner Bros. wasn't too happy with Gaga's performance and asked Cooper to cut a lot of her non-singing scenes. The decision to not credit her as Stefani Germanotta has to be purely for financial reasons (if an independent made the film, there likely wouldn't have been a problem as A24 didn't mind Cedric the Entertainer using his real name on First Reformed).

I thought that too. But this is the fourth remake of a 1932 film, so I don't think it cares if you compare it to other stuff. And I thought Jeff Bridges was doing a Kris Kristofferson impression in Crazy Heart as well.Buscemi2 wrote:I liked this movie when it was called Crazy Heart.

Re: Trailer : A Star is Born
However, I have to wonder if anyone is familiar with the previous versions (the story is in public domain so anyone can film it). Maybe the one with Judy Garland but anyway, it might be a remake but it's more than likely that it won't completely follow the original story and instead follow whatever trend is out there.
But four versions of A Star is Born is nothing compared to all of the adaptations of Journey to the West we've seen in the past few years.

HSX. It was several months ago so you'd have to dig for the post.

I only remember the 70's version. All I remember from that movie was that the same song played like every five minutes and I STILL can't get it out of my head. Here's hoping this is better.
