Trailer : The Sisters Brothers

Post by Chienfantome »

Jacques Audiard's first foray into ERnglish-speaking cinema will open in France in September. On the paper, the film was announced as a western comedy. The film certainly looks like a western, but it doesn't seem it's gonna be a comedy after all. I really like the look of it.
Joaquin Phoenix, John C. Reilly, Jake Gyllenhaal, Riz Ahmed. What a cast.
Here's the French trailer for it.

It didn't take long for the US trailer to follow the French trailer.
It's crazy how the tones of the two trailers are very different. The French trailer was very serious and dark. The US trailer is much lighter.

The American trailer is far superior to the French trailer. I'm not sure what the French trailer was trying to accomplish with the dream pop and Godard-style credits.

But from a financial standpoint, I think it's going to be more Assassination of Jesse James than Django Unchained.

Well, yeah. No offense to Audiard, but he's not QT. In the US, anyway.

It said "This Fall". Anyone know of a more specific release date?
Happy 60th birthday Jet Li! (4/26/23)
