I still wish this had been the planned ultra-graphic two-part epic Warner Bros. was all set to make rather than looking like Season 2 of Stranger Things (though this was filmed before that series was even a thing).
Meanwhile, will it really be that successful? Yes, the miniseries is still highly respected after all these years (even if it falls apart in the second part) but this one cut even more from the book than that did (the book is well over a thousand pages, the miniseries despite its three hour run time dropped some subplots due to time and content) and it faces the second week of Inhumans (which should perform extremely well despite only being on IMAX screens). Even if it opens well, word-of-mouth will hurt it (see other adaptations that tried to cut long stories into films under two and a half hours, such as Winter's Tale or David Lynch's Dune).
