I'm not a fan of Besson, but let's hope it can be as fun as The Fifth Element. It certainly looks to go that way.

A whole lotta visuals, it's not terribly exciting me like I thought it would.

Looks interesting, but given Besson's recent track record, it'll probably end up being shit.

Re: Trailer : Valerian and the City of a Thousand planets
Early reaction from CinemaCon has compared it to the anticipation of Avatar before its 2009 release. It could be the surprise of the summer.
Of course, audiences haven't been responsive to space opera in recent years and prefer numerous heroic military vs. evil aliens films (Transformers, Edge of Tomorrow, Battle: Los Angeles, it's all the same movie at this point) so there is an uphill battle for a French-produced retro-styled sci-fi from an independent distributor to win mainstream acceptance.

Everything on this post is strictly the opinion and only the opinion of Buscemi.

I'm looking forward to this one more than any other july release. Actually, looking at all of summer now, i would place it 3rd behind a few May releases.
