Not trailer related, but I thought it was interesting that the Columbia Pictures logo before the film did not have the Sony lead-in beforehand. During the opening credits, neither Sony or Columbia are mentioned. Before I saw the film, I assumed that it was a Sony/Apple co-production, but I guess the former only distributed it.

Re: The Trailers Shown Before Other Movies Thread
Yeah, Killers of the Flower Moon was a co-production situation since they boarded later on after Paramount decided they didn't want to fund the whole project themselves. Napoleon, Argylle and presumably all of the other projects in the near future that they decide to release widely in theaters are cases of them just hiring a studio to handle the distribution for them.Screen203 wrote: ↑November 22nd, 2023, 12:50 amTrailers before Napoleon -

Re: The Trailers Shown Before Other Movies Thread
Sony only got distribution rights to Napoleon. This was an Apple production through and through.

Re: The Trailers Shown Before Other Movies Thread
That makes sense - I think Killers Of The Flower Moon was intended to be a theatrical release from the beginning, as opposed to the other two films that Apple has given to studios for a wide release.

Argylle not showing up here is a pretty big upset. Perhaps the programmer has grown sick of putting it on 4 out of every 5 playlists over the past couple months

Re: The Trailers Shown Before Other Movies Thread
I have not seen the Argylle trailer before any movie yet. And I live in one of the few markets that got Tetris, the last Apple/MARV teaming, theatrically.
But it's probably no big loss. Vaughn's been copying Guy Ritchie's earlier films for what seems like years now.

Re: The Trailers Shown Before Other Movies Thread
The difference between what trailers are frequently played at AMC and Alamo Drafthouse is pretty nuts. I remember earlier this year you said that you couldn't escape the Beau is Afraid trailer and meanwhile, I saw it just once. And in this case, I've seen Argylle 7 times since September 30th (and I'm in the midst of a 3-week drought!) to your zero.

Re: The Trailers Shown Before Other Movies Thread
At my location, the manager for some reason picks the trailers and only runs trailers for movies he wants to see (and his tastes are usually action, horror, Nicolas Cage, and what the Internet hypes up). So the trailers for Dream Scenario, The Holdovers, Next Goal Wins, and Saltburn would play before everything for a few months.
