I remember how, 10 years ago or so, I was bemoaning the fact that imdb didn't have more social features to connect users. Then Letterboxd came along to fill that very void, and when I finally tried it: meh.

It's got a few features that imdb should have had years ago, and it's got a nice layout and design, but it's basically a second app to log movies I've watched, and a place to see what like-minded friends have been watching without flooding Facebook with movie posts.

I prefer it over IMDb, which is nowadays pretty much r/movies but even more political.
It's like what Lenin said...I am the walrus.
