Somehow half of the year has already passed. 2019 has been pretty damn fine for movies so far in my sorry opinion with minimal letdowns and a few in particular that have a good shot at placing highly on my best of the decade list. Here are my 10 favorites from January-June:

7.Triple Frontier
6.Toy Story 4
5.Booksmart
4.Avengers: Endgame
3.The Beach Bum

1.John Wick 3

Honorable Mentions:
Cold Pursuit

I cannot trust a list that puts Child's Play in the Best list and Arctic in the Worst.

Hmmm... I dunno, Velvet Buzzsaw is definitely in my 5 worst. Arctic is pretty dull and its 2nd half is way worse than its first. I also agree with Joker being a bad film. Phoenix is occasionally brilliant but repetitively OTT, the script can't tell the difference between the character and the writer's own view (resulting in a baffling scene during the talk-show where Joker rants about the subjectivity of humour), and it's so blatently derivative of King of Comedy and Taxi Driver that I may as well just watch those classics instead.

However, Triple Frontier, with its dull action and unbelievably dumb characters, would certainly be in 5 worst as well.

I forgot about Once Upon A Time in America. If I rewatch that film it may make my Top 20 (it's one of the options for a theatrical releaase when cineams here re-open on July 10th).

Banks, you reminded me that I should see Ready or Not. I thought I was done with 2019 but obviously not!
